What the...?

  • Hi all!
Just a quick post (hahaha!) to say that I have struggled in the past few weeks. I took a trip to Perogyville to visit my parents and did the best that I could. Before I left, I was 177.5 lbs.
I exercised 4 times in the week I was in Perogyville (90 minutes of Hot Yoga, 4 times...) and really cut back on what I was eating. I knew I was not perfect, but I was OK. I came back and last week I weighed 179 lbs.
    EEEEkkk!!!
I struggled for the next 2 days, as I was/am incredibly homesick and did eat off plan for 2 days. I got right back on, STRICT, and did my best to mitigate the damage of those 2 days -- I was pretty sure that my overages were MOSTLY accounted for with my 35 Flex Points (I am on WW) which are simply put, extra calories to "play with" during a week that helps address overages such as mine.
BUT, I have a real block at getting through the 170s, and I KNEW that at my weigh-in today, if I was back in the 180s (where I spent 9 NINE weeks!!!), I would be (temporarily) crushed.
    Well, I weighed in.
I'm 176!!!! FIRMLY in the 170s!!! And looking for the 160s!!!

I don't weigh every day, so this was a most welcome surprise!!!!

I know, not really a question-type of post, but I just had to share.

So for all of you WAVERING today, stick with it. You can do it!!!! And if you have slipped, just get right back in form tomorrow. It WILL all work out...

  • hey!

    that's wonderful news!

i think the mental challenge of backsliding is really tough. seeing numbers inch up after so much work....blargh. so disheartening.

but lookit you go! sticking the finish i call it!

  • That is wonderful wonderful news. A lot of HARD WORK and DETERMINATION went into that!!!! I can't wait till you say good-bye to the 170's too!
  • Yay you!!!
  • Hooray!

You know that blip of a weight gain could have been caused by anything, you know! The plan ride itself can dehydrate you and do all sorts of nasty things. I think anytime one travels one can expect a little fluctuation. Frustrating when you only want to see the scales go down, though!

Well done, you. You've stuck to it, even when you were discouraged and homesick. I'm thrilled for you and can't wait to see you break up with the 70's!
  • Well done! 160s firmly on the horizon!
  • Good job Kira! You did a great job of getting back on track and also being patient during the nine weeks in the 180's. The weight loss process can be very frustrating, but you have a great attitude and will see the 160's before you know it!
  • Great Job!
  • Way to rock it Kira! It sounds like you know what works for you and can manage a vast array of circumstances. That is beautiful.
  • Well that is simply fantastic news Kira! Bravo!
  • Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Thanks, guys...

I have to confess, though, that sometimes I have trouble posting like this, because I don't don't DON'T want to sound like a gloating Pollyanna...

Sometimes it is hard to write about the successes, as weird as it sounds...

    Thanks for listening...
