A real close friend of mine is visiting from CA. The last time I saw him I weighed right around 260 pounds ( Dec 2007 ) He knows I've lost weight cause I talk with him about everything, but he has yet to see me since i've lost at least 50 pounds. I'm gonna be so happy to see him, he's been my closest friend since middle school....and I'm excited to see his reaction!

Sounds great! Yeah I love when people haven't seen me in a while and say "wow you've lost weight!"

50 lbs is A LOT of weight ~ 2 sizes. I hope your visit is wonderful and I bet you knock his socks off.

What a great idea for a non-food reward for unloading 50 pounds of fat --- give yourself an old friend!

My bet is they will be totally surprised for the first few seconds and then TOTALLY stoked that you have given yourself this other great gift of better health. Sounds like fun all around!

That's so exciting! I'm going home to PA in three weeks for my brother's graduation/fam. reunion.. and I REALLY want to lose as much weight as I can before then!

I'm actually right there with you. In 2 weeks I am flying to MN to visit my dearest friend in the world. We last saw each other in June...I weighed 100+ pounds then! He know I've lost and seen pics and he's been losing as well. It's going to be a great reunion!

so, just a little update on how it went. I had lunch with his Thurs afternoon, and he picked me up at work. He gave me a hug and said wow, you look good....I smiled and said thank you! then he kept looking at me, and I kinda laughed and asked if i looked that much different, and he just said, yeah, you look good. so that was fun.

Then I went to a party hosted by his family on sat and one of his old neighbors asked if I was the girl who use to come by the house all the time to hang out with him all those years ago ( we're talking 10-12 yrs ago while we were in HS ) and I said, yeah, that would be me...and she said I thought that looked like you, but it looks like you lose some weight since then. That comment shocked me, cause I didn't think I was that big in the middle of HS. But I figure, I will certainly take looking better now than I even did in HS!

I had such a great visit with him. Hopefully I'll be able to see him again before the year ends. Thanks for letting me share the experience with you guys. We took a couple pics, if he remembers to email them to me I will post them here....
