Got my test results back
I talked to the secretary at my doctors office just briefly and she couldn't say much (my appointment is tomorrow) but I'm officially "chock full of gall stones." Which is great! It means it's NOT cancer or a tumor of anything else absolutely awful :)
Just to update the people who wanted to know and have been asking :) |
If they tell you they want to take it out - the surgery was a breeze (for me anyway)
|
That's good!
|
Yay! That is very good news! My mom had the surgery a few years ago and it was really easy and went really well! I wish you luck! I know you will do fine and get right back on the weight loss track (even though you never actually fell off) at full speed very soon!

That's great news!

I did manage to talk to my doctor a bit this afternoon about the gall stones. He said that those that develope them due to fast weight loss are usually the ones who are on very low calorie diets (800 a day or less) or are fasting or are weight loss surgery patients. With my family history of gallstones (my grandmother, sister and mother) he's not suprised and said that my fast weight loss due to eating HEALTHFULLY *might* have triggered it but he would have expected to see them sooner or later in my case anyways. That was very nice to hear as I've been doubting myself lately.
so tomorrow at 1:30 we'll go more over the results and I'll update then. PS. I'm exactly halfway to goal... 113.4 lbs lost. 113.6 more to go :) |

Good news!
You shouldn't doubt yourself. I didn't know fairly fast weight loss could cause gall stones but when you start out at well over 300 lbs, when you start eating healthy and exercising, the weight can just start pouring off, at least at first. Not that everyone loses fast and not everyone who does will get gall stones but even if you do its not your fault, its just something that can happen. |
I am sorry that you have them but at least it is not something worse.
I wonder how much they weigh? Getting them out will lower your weight even more! :) |
Yay, I'm so glad it's not worse!!!!
|
Glad it's the best news it could be. How long until the surgery?
|
That is wonderful news that it's not cancer. And, Congratulations on making it to the 1/2 way mark! :carrot:
|
Great news! I know you've been worried - and rightly so.
|
"Chockful of stones"? Yikes! I've never had a gallstone attack fortunately but I've seen pictures of the gallbladder just full of these stones and it looked absolutely painful. Wishing you a speedy recovery, cfmama!
And congratulations on being halfway there! |
Good to hear it's "just" gallstones....
I learned something today....I did not know that heredity plays a part in the formation of gallstones...very interesting. And well done on making it to the halfway point! |
