I haven't been posting much...

  • Frankly, I was feeling at a loss! I've been maintaining the same weight for weeks now and not sure what to do. I've been so sick again! It's driving me crazy and making me depressed because I haven't been exercising in over a week because of travel and being sick. I had a horrible binge day yesterday and I had mention over lunch with hubby and oldest son how I have to meal plan but keep putting it off.

Well, wonderful 7 year old son (Kale) that I have, went and got paper and starting planning a week of meals, so over the lunch hour we planned out the week. I can't believe I've been humming and hawing over doing this and we did it together and he loves it, being involved and shopping with me.

I decided that I'm finally going to start calorie counting, so yesterday I picked up a new pretty blue journal and have started journaling today, to track my week and see where I need improvement and track my calories and go from there. I'm just glad that I'm back on track.
  • What a great kid. You are going to do GREAT!
  • You're 7 y/o is an awesome kid! I hope things start to turn around for you really soon.
  • Wow, he's a smart little 7 y/o!

Just set your mind to it and you can do anything!
  • What a great kid! And well done you for catching his enthusiasm!

A word from a calorie counter - don't forget to count nutrients as well as calories, one of the online sites will help there. When I first started calorie counting, 2002, it was only when I started using a tracking software that I realized why I was feeling so awful:it genuinely is Very difficult to get all the nutrients you need on a calorie restricted diet, so a supplement was a must for me.

    Good luck!
  • I'm glad you have a plan and now you can feel good again!!! Way to go!
  • Hey, I have been missing you and I am glad youre back. Lemme just say your 7year old sounds like a wonderful little guy. Good for you to find a pretty journal to food journal in too. Calorie counting is my weapon of choice fighting obesity. The price is right but best of all it works. Can't wait to read about your continued success.
  • What a great boy! You are so blessed.

Don't think of the past weeks as time "wasted", but rather as time that brought you to the place you are NOW - ready for calorie counting!!!!!

For me, it is the only thing that forces limits on my eating. Otherwise I'm an open ended book. Which is not so good for a compulsive overeater. You'll see as you get into it that it's not all that difficult at all and is time VERY well spent. Make sure you get good value for your calories - delicious, filling and satisfying foods. You may just want to toss all the junk out of your home as well. That precious boy of yours doesn't need it either. Set yourself up for success - remove thy junk - and ADD in good, wholesome, low calorie, healthy foods.

    I'm excited for you.
  • Donna, I think you're going to love calorie counting. Welcome back to posting with us again.
