  • Here's the deal. Say something nice or positive about a member of our 100 pound club. Any member. Any thing. Just say something nice!!!

My something: DCHound to me is the model of determination. The way she has dealt with her almost three month plateau is one that I will always remember and what I will strive to achieve should it happen to me. She is a wealth of information and I am proud to have her as my weight loss twin
  • Since I haven't been here that long...I'll just say, that this community is simply great. It's definitely kept me in the right mindset and determined. I'm quite thankful to have found you guys.
  • Numina has to be the funniest person in this community!
  • Sandi is one of my dearest friends on here....we share our challenges with one another off the board. She knows what I am going through and vice versa. (Not that the rest of you don't...I just share more with her.)

She is a beautiful lady, inside and out!
  • I can't think of what to say specifically about someone else ... but I'd like to give a general thanks to so many of ladies that post regularly, and provide great information and inspiration - MugCanDoIt, Time2Lose, DCHound, cfmama, GirlyGirlSebas, Ailidh, Thighs Be Gone, Devsmama, rockinrobin and all the others.

The is such a great forum and I'm so thankful we're all so chatty and honest about so many aspects of weight loss.

    You guys are great!
  • Wow. Well, if I had to choose only one I would have to pick Glory287 because I am still reeling from her incredible post I recently read from 2006. Honestly though, every single one of us are so special. It is hard to exalt any ONE above the others. Hugs to all of you this morning.
  • Lately, I've been finding myself echoing what Kiramira has said. She's come up with some great posts!

Kaplods is someone I look for when I want to read something profound!

Love my buddies on the accountability thread: MJ5, Girlygirlsebas, Nicolen, BeverlyJoy, Lixxi, and others I am probably missing.

Dammit, now you made me go and cry at work. Tammy knows how much I love her. I'm going to pay it forward to another member instead.

Meredith (Star2Be) is always cheerful, positive and she is SO DARN INSPIRING. She has lost 101 lbs!!! And she is now TINY! She always has happy and inspiring words for others. And she has the right attitude, by which I mean, she is going to spend the rest of her life healthy and not obese, because she's figured out the "magic weightloss secret" at such a young age. (The secret, of course, is that there's no magic weightloss secret. It's a lifestyle.)

I wish I'd been as mature and attenuated to my health when I was her age ~ I wouldn't be 39 and obese, otherwise. But hey, better late than never. And I'm getting there.

Love this thread. Tammy rocks hardcore, as always.
  • I just think everyone on here is awesome! Everyone together makes it just right. Nobody go anywhere, we all need each other!!
  • Numina's jokes have cheered me up on some really bad days!
  • cfmama, so positive and motivating for me!
  • Rockinrobin is great because of her sound advice and making the truth so obvious. She keeps me trying every day, 'it's not motivation, it's committment', that's how I look at it now. Thank you.
  • The bad thing about this thread.....

    People get left out.
  • It also celebrates those who give so much to this board and rally the rest of us!
  • I'm relatively new to this forum, but I have SO many people to give props to -- (I'd like to thank the Acadamy, my parents...hahaha!). So here goes:
    1. The moderators! For their ceaseless efforts in making this a safe, polite, and soliciation-free site!
    2. The maintainers (rockinrobin, glory, meg, heather, mandalinn82) for showing us that the struggles of the maintainer are the same as those of us who are in the process of changing our lives.
    3. Every. Single. Poster. who has shared their struggles and sought advice in a very public way.
    4. Every. Single. Poster. who has taken the time out of their day and busy schedule to give support to those of us who struggle.
    5. The NEW posters who are working their way into the site to discover more about themselves and to transform their lives.
    6. The long-termers (JayEll, Kaplods, cfmama, jiffypop, thighsbegone) who just keep at it.
    Kira
ps. a special shout-out to Velveteen, who is in SUCH transformation; RockinRobin for sage advice, and Ms Heather who WILL make it!
