Hubby and I want to try white water rafting. I've also talked him into taking up hiking with me. However, I'm thinking this might be a better activity for the fall and not the heat of summer.

Yeah spring and fall are our hiking seasons. Although there is a national park a few hours away where it tends to be cooler during the summer (and some days) so we have gone hiking there in the past.

I want to try canoeing, biking in the park or on trails and bird watching (there is a groups that hikes in the parks early in the moring). There are outdoor tai chi and jump rope classes that I would do but I work on Saturday morning when the classes are offered. I love the long days of summer but I have to be carful with the southern heat.

I've been walking/jogging for a while now. I want to find some hiking trails in the mountains.

Great thread!
Bike riding would be awesome but it's so dang hilly here i am not ready for it yet.
What about nice evening speed walks or even early morning yoga in the back yard (you can get the kids out there too if you have them).

Hiking, walking the trails around here. Volleyball in the park, swimming. I'd love to kayak, that's my next big splurge- now that I can fit in one!!
