Thanks, Meredith!

The all-you-can-eat salad place is doable, even with pizza and desserts, but those buffet places, with all-you-can-eat roast beef and fried chicken and mashed potatos and nachos, etc. scare me. I not only don't go it, but I avert my eyes when I drive past them!

Just pretend that they are closed... TO YOU! They don't want you there!! ha!

Pepsi has always been a problem for me. I'm on day 3 of not having any and I feel so good about it!!

Numina 05-13-2009 01:42 PM

Thanks, ThinPossible and Slashni! And you know, those places might NOT want people like me to go in there: "OMG, she'll ruin us!" (Although the sad truth is that I see a lot of people my size and a lot bigger going in or out of those buffets...)

Donna, I am so there! Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi is my thing! I love it! And yet, it seems like when I drink it, I end up wanting a whole lot more sweets and calories. Not to mention what it does to your teeth and bones and digestion.

So WOOT! WOOT! for you for walking away from the siren sound of a pop tab opening. 3 days sounds like a long time to me! Better get those running shoes on, because you are taking a lap! Don't forget to wave to your fans, lady!

Ok, that's not what I meant!!
They just don't want you because you are one of those people losing weight and you might be an inspiration to the other diners... and then they'll lose business because no one will come back... on and on and on!!

:)

Oh, I see what you meant now, Slashni! I knew you meant no offense and I took none, and I hope you don't mind that I misinterpretted what you were saying. (It actually tickled my funny bone...)

:D

Time for another lap!! One of my classes ended a bit early today, so one of my closest friends and I were hanging out on the quad, just chilling out and soaking up a bit of sun in the extra time before our next classes... Well, naturally, he decided that he had to go get a snack from our student convenience store. And get this--he had the gall to buy an entire bag of peanut butter M&Ms, even though he knows that anything with peanut butter and chocolate is quite literally like Kryptonite for me. Of course, there was no way I was eating them, because they are definitely not vegan (heh), but it drove me absolutely NUTS to have to sit and watch him eat the whole bag... I could even smell them, and I swear my mouth started watering. All I wanted to do was snatch that bag out of his hands and either stomp on it furiously OR start frantically stuffing the whole thing into my mouth! :o

Luckily, I just so happened to have a delicious juicy pear with me, so I munched on that instead... My stomach was crying out at the smell of the peanut butter-y deliciousness, but I would NOT give into it! This is a huge victory for me--I don't know how I can fully communicate how nearly impossible it is for me to resist peanut butter and chocolate things. That really is like the mother of all triggers for me, and I am simply amazed that I didn't even have a single one of those d*mn M&Ms. I feel strong! ;)

My boss went to get us treats to day and asked what I wanted. "An apple" I forgot my snacks today. He was sweet and say he supported me and brought me back two apples. They were delicious!

[COLOR="Blue"][I]This is a great thread for me too!! Victory lap for me!!! I was at Costco today. I walked through the bakery section and it smelled wonderful! I LOVE cookies and they had the homemade package of choc.chip, oatmeal raisin, and white choc. mac. I picked up the package and felt the saliva starting to drip! I actually smelled the box! Then thought- I have had these cookies. They are wonderful. But I want to stay on plan because I am worth it and that is better then any cookie! I put the box down and walked away without a backward glance! Victory lap!!!!!!!!!
