I just want to SCREAM!!!

:mad:My daughter and her boyfriend were over for supper tonight and as I am cleaning up she says, "Mom, I sat in chocolate.(pointed look at me)You know you aren't supposed to be eating chocolate." I WAS FLOORED! I told her that I have not had chocolate since I don't remember and she knows more then anyone that I am dead serious this time! She just gave me a knowing look and walked away. WTF! Failure for me this time is not an option. I have been working harder then I ever have and have voiced many times that I will not give up this time! I am mad! My husband says she didn't mean anything by it but is just showing concern for me. GRRR. Anyway...thanks for letting me vent. I think I will go for a walk now!!!:tantrum: (I know, don't take it personal) Thanks everyone for listening.

I would have flat told her it was none of her d@mn business. How dare she speak to you like that in your on home?

Agreed! It's your home and none of her business.

Crazy4Kenny 04-18-2009 09:41 PM

I'm sorry. :(

TJFitnessDiva 04-18-2009 09:56 PM

Ahhh the food police....I probably would have just let loose and screamed

GirlyGirlSebas 04-18-2009 10:14 PM

I'm sorry that she doesn't have more faith in you. Use this as fuel for your determination to show her and everyone else that you can do this!

Congrats for not losing your temper. I don't think I could have responded so calmly. Chin up! You know you are serious this time and so do we. We are here to cheer you on!

That bites that she was ragging on you like that. I wonder what was bugging HER to make her lash out at you like that!

Rosinante 04-19-2009 02:29 AM

You did very well not to yell at her, or to go and eat some chocolate just to spite her.
I'm sure in her head it was concern but it came out lippy. Well done for resisting.

JayEll 04-19-2009 07:18 AM

How did she sit in chocolate, anyway?

This is where you smile and say, "Honey, mind your business. It wasn't my chocolate." Pleasantly. And just go on. 'Nuff said.

cfmama makes a good point. I would bet there was something that was bothering her, so she made a poor choice and lashed out at you. I would have been really ticked though and probably would have not handled it as maturely as I should!

barefootnikki 04-19-2009 11:31 AM

She also might only be worried and not know how to seriously talk about it so she sort of lashes out in these ways. Shake it off girl and prove her wrong ;)

Who called it "the food police?" I LOVE it! Can you believe I've never heard it before?

freshmanweightorbust 04-19-2009 12:30 PM

OMG 'food police' is old! Like, retro-old LOL

I agree that she very likely meant well, but her way of expressing it was hurtful. I'm also a little confused by the "sat in chocolate" part... huh?
