Hi...I am new to this site....
I am Jen(29yrs old) and am new to 3FC website and message boards. I am a SAHM of 2 wonderful children, a daughter Katy(5yrs old), and a son Christian(2yrs old). We live in Ontario, Canada.
What brings me to this board is that I am currently over 100lbs overweight. I keep fluctuating between 260-265lbs and I am only 5'4". I am going to the doctor this coming tuesday and going to have her run some tests on me(for diabetes, thyroid, asthma), and also going to talk to her about a plan for me to help me lose weight and become healthy.
It's nice to know there is a board like this to come to for support.

Hi and Welcome! Congrats to you for starting to take charge of your health. I think it's a great idea that you see your doctor and have some tests run. Better to be safe than sorry. Please, make yourself at home and post and read here as much as possible. It will inspire you, believe me.
Best wishes along your journey. You can do this, have faith.

Thank you Jennifer...
I only hope that I have the strength to do this like my dad does for quitting drinking alchol. He has been sober since August and is doing remarkable with it too.

Welcome Jen. When I came here I too had over 100lbs to lose. This is a great place for support.
I am trying to figure out what SAHM means. Single ________ _________ Mother. Single American __________ Mother?
Single American Hetrosexual Mother? You can tell I am not familiar with abbreviations.
Someone help. thanks

You can do this! The main thing is to get in the right mind set and keep posting. Get involved in a mentality of health and changing your life for the better. You are not alone. I worked hard for months to achieve a major goal of getting below 300lbs and I have withn the past two weeks made that goal. Like so many I first set myself up to fail by putting my expectations way to high. Set small goals and work toward them. If you don't meet them quite as quickly as you wanted just keep going . The Joy of reaching them is worth much more than anything you can put in your mouth. The total happiness of your clothes falling off your shoulders, the self pride, the delight of making those goals are beyond belief and more satisfying than anything in this world so hang in there and get going. We are all behind you 100% and any problem you may run into we will meet together. You have found the right people and the right place to make it happen.
WELCOME ON BOARD!!!!!!
Pam

Hi girl I too want to extend my welcome. hang your hat and stay a bit read and post that is the way to get it right. do not expect too much at one time, but slow and steady winns the race.
