"Dream Outfits"

I'm sure everyone has in mind what they want to be able to wear, or even hang an old pair of jeans over the door to look at every day! I know i have OLD clothes I want to fit into again someday

I was watching Biggest Loser AUSTRALIA and they do this cool thing where they put a new outfit in a glass display case (nice!) and that's their goal.

I kind of want to do that!! buy a pair of jeans and a shirt I've always wanted (don't laugh - from marks work warehouse LOL it's pink and fitted and i love it!) and hang it there as motivation.

waste of money??? kind of silly i guess, i mean it might fit but not fit right even skinny, yes? LOL i'm talking myself out of it! but i saw the shirt in a flyer and it's on sale from $55 down to $39 !!!

I went out and bought a pair of jeans in the size I want to be and a cute top that I can actually wear now ;) The jeans are still hanging from the front of my closet door but my top has now moved to hanging in my closet!

Yes it may or may not fit but the motivation that they can give you out weighs the cost (to me anyways!)

I think you are right it is a good motivation to look at the clothes everyday.
I bought a workout tank top and i'm still hoping that it will fit nice by the summer. It keeps me motivated...

I bought a summer swimsuit in a couple sizes down (not goal size, but closer, I hope to get into it this summer, and I may not be a goal by then) that hangs from the closet door. I think if it encourages you, it's worth it.

I love having goal clothes too! I bought a pair of jeans two days ago that are definitely too small -- they are probably 7-8 pounds away. They are low-rise Express with flair leg. Okay, so they are like most all the jeans in my closet now but they are better--they are smaller! :)

I have tons of old ones but I also bought a new outfit. Nothing special but I love it and hopefully can fit into it in a couple months. A really cute long-sleeved fitted T (XL/14) and Vanderbilt jeans, from Costco, size 16. Hanging right on the front of my closet door. It's very motivating because I know I will look GREAT in them, when they fit.

I have motivating Jeans hanging in my closet! I think I will hang that new pair on the door to look at more often! Good Idea!

That is a great idea! I think I will go out and look this weekend! It will be wonderful motivation to see that outfit each day!

I've bought clothes before that I want to fit into, and they've ended up in a storage container with the rest of my skinny clothes. So, this time, I dug in my "skinny box" and pulled out this fabulous skirt that I only got to wear for a month or so at my lowest weight. THAT is my motivation!

I have a dress that I got in the 90's which is the last time I got down to 225. I was shocked when I pulled it out because I remembered this beautiful dress. Well, today it is rather sad looking. I will never wear it out again but I am looking forward to it fitting again. Once it does, I will buy a new dress!

I have a medium Old Navy shirt dress that's my current motivation (my top is a medium, but my giant hips are still hovering between large and XL). But I have always really wanted to be able to walk into Ann Taylor and buy a dress off the rack and actually be able to fit into it. So one of these days that is exactly what I'm going to do.

I have a leather skirt that my mom gave me.
Size 12, but from the 80's. It honestly looks equivalent to a size 8 nowadays.

I would love to wear the skirt + leather boots + top.

I am just happy to be in "normal" sizes.

Rosinante 04-02-2009 02:53 AM

I've just appointed an interim dream blouse.

I just bought it off ebay and it's a UK18. I'm currently about a UK21, if there were such a size, so it's not a million miles away.

What I like about it is that it's just so ordinary. It's a pretty blouse, ditsy, feminine little blue print, but by no means daring or out there; but it'll be the first thing out of the 20s that I wear, it'll feel 'normal'.

I don't have a goal outfit per se, but I just basically go a mini shopping spree when my clothes get too big. Expensive, yes, but a helleva lot of fun!
