I am not your doctor NOR an expert... but I only weight 10 lbs more than you and I'm losing quickly on 1700 a day... 1200 would leave me STARVED!

Thanks for that reply! So I dont feel like I'm unreasonable on having trouble sustaining on 1200 calories a day. Im a little annoyed I was supposed to have a follow up with my doc today, but I needed to reschedule due to mandatory training at work. She is out of the office for two weeks! No notice or anything, so since I cant see her today I cant see her for two more weeks!

I was going to ask her about upping the calories some because Im starving not to mention becoming very discouraged because I feel like she set me up to fail from the start. You can not ask someone to go from over-eating to 1200 calories a day...without even a gradual cut back.

So I have been over in the 1300 or even 1400 range almost daily in the last week. So that makes me feel guilty. Then I just want to eat more!

Plus I have to say I feel sorry for my hubby I am not a nice person when Im hungry....and Im always hungry lately

If you are always hungry, then you need to eat more. :)

I'll echo everyone who said that 1,200 sounds pretty low.

You can use a free website like FitDay to get an estimate of how many calories you burn in a day - at your weight it is probably in the range of 2,500 to 3,000 depending on your activity level. If you eat 1,000 calories per day less than you are burning, you'll lose 2 lbs per week.

If you want to lose faster than that, you might want to try increasing the cardio exercise you are doing instead of eating fewer calories. The exercise increases your metabolism and benefits your health in many other ways.

Good luck with your program!
