My doctor called about my thyroid test results - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

AAARRGGGHHHH!!!! No wonder I am having such a hard time. My thyroid levels were WAY low. He bumped me up big time. I am ticked off that I had to be the one to mention wanting it retested. The last time the doctor tested it, it was 6 weeks after the baby was born and it wasn't a complete thyroid level. This time, he did the COMPLETE panel and "surprise" it was off.

Now, I am hoping once I get this filled I will feel BETTER. I will still have a cold but maybe I won't be so drag-arse tired and maybe the scale will move! (Hopefully DOWNWARD)

It is frustrating when you have to battle your own weight loss demonds/issues and then something you really have no control over sidelines your efforts. Oh well, at least I know now. That is half the battle.

Good for you for pushing to get the test done! And now you know. Give your body time to adjust to the meds and I'm sure you'll be on track in no time!

I have Very low thyroid problems and the meds do help...once they got into my system i didnt feel as tired, my skin wasnt as dry, and my hair didnt fall out as much...it was bad...i could of supplied many men with hair pieces..

you should notice a diff...give it about a week, depending on how your body reacts to meds.

AND Make sure you get it re checked every 6 months or year...some even have to go every 3 months...

Hope the new dosage makes you feel better! We really do have to take the bull by the horns with our own health care, it seems.

I know how you feel- dr's seem to not want to do anything!

My husband has had vertigo for THREE weeks and the doctor was acting like "oh it'll just go away" not until I started doing my OWN research online I found that if your vertigo lasts more then 2 weeks it's most likely a nervous system issue! Last weekend my husband had this terrible 30 second headache (I thought he was having an aneurysm) and then she said "hmm okay here's a referral for a neurologist) and then I said "shouldn't he also get an MRI?" and she was like yeah I think so and wrote up a referall for that also! I was like WHO is the doctor here?!

Well you just scared me into action! My 9 year old was sent home from school yesterday after complaining about dizziness twice. He also had a headache that lasted only a short, short while. He said this has happened before. I contributed it to either motion sickness from reading on the way to school (I know I can't do that) or to a sinus/ear infection. Only, last night, I took him to the doctor and he does NOT have a sinus or ear infection.

Now I am nervous. Paging Dr. Google!!!!

My son suffered from vertigo when he was younger. We did the whole workup on him and found 2 things.
1. His sinus' were underdeveloped for his age (10lbs 11oz at birth) he was always in the 100% for height. They said his sinus' should catch up with him -they did...
2. He was diagnosed with a form of migraines. The doc said that he will more than likely grow out of the vertigo but could develop migraine headaches as he gets older. He is 13 now and has had a few.
