I'm loving shopping. I need to be careful or it could replace my addiction to food. My husband hasn't complained, I think he wonders who this woman is and what happened to his old wife. ;)
I'm loving the fitness part too. It is beautiful here this time of year. It was 55 degrees yesterday and sunny. My son and I walked a trail that we have walked parts of before. Yesterday we walked five miles and it was so beautiful. I have never taken the time to enjoy our surroundings before and I'm trying to teach him to appreciate these things. We were pretty sore by the time we got back to the car, but we had a lot of fun. I'm so glad we took the time to get out together instead of staying in the house each doing our own thing.

Choreographing songs sounds fun!!

One thing I found fun after I'd lost a few pounds was playing with the numbers. Build a graph of your weekly weight loss, marking milestones like obese/overweight/normal, 100-pound-lost milestone, etc. Figuring out how many calories I'd lost and then converting that into sticks of butter, candy bars, apples, etc. There are tons of statistics you can pull.

Also, if you've just started losing weight, take detailed measurements for comparison later. I was amazed to learn I lost 70 pounds, but only minimally came from my upper arms and breasts, but much more came from areas I didn't even think were my "problem areas".

well...I'm not going to say weight loss is FUN for me...

but I try to make more pleasant by using audiobooks for walking and ONLY watching my "Alias' episodes while using the exerbike.

what I have done is make it a "project" and granted it 1st priority. I have a book for "accounting" purposes and I log in it daily. I have an exercise and eating schedule. since I hate not finishing projects I feel confident that I will succeed this time.

I guess I have to lose weight in "my own language" so to speak.

Running used to be so much fun for me when I was playing rugby, but I gained so much weight after college. I want to play again this summer and fall so now when Im at the gym its fun to see how much longer I can keep running then the time before without stopping. I usually watch tv on the treadmill and laugh or listen to motivating songs, especially thats not my name thats such a good running song.

When I say the title of this thread, I snorted. but you are right --there is fun here if we just look for it--better that than moaning right?

Exactly!! Where did moaning and whining get us? A one way ticket to Fat Town!

Life is too dang short to be miserable.

I will admit to imitating Beyonce's "Put a Ring on it" video in my Eeyore pj's before and calling it a workout.

I will say that I doubt I'll be one of her backup dancers any time soon.

kiki100 02-12-2009 07:04 AM

I should try the Beyonce workout myself! LOL...BUT only if nobody is around...anybody nearby would get knocked out cold if I shook this booty!!! Bwahahahahaha! :D
