Has anyone tried butter spray?

I know there are a couple on the market with 0 calories and was thinking about picking some up tonight but I just wanted to see if anyone had tried them. Does it actually taste similar to butter or does it have some weird chemical after taste?

I like it but my mom was always on a perma diet and I grew up on it.

If you are talking about I can't believe its not butter, it is 100% fat but it ends up being 0 fat per serving and 4 calories (as opposed to 0 calories) because its such a small amount. A teaspon of it is 20 calories, 2g of fat.

I've tried it too..tastes ok, but I've shifted my way of eating to natural products. The spray butter is made with stuff that doesn't break down in your system very well. I agree with Nelie...
I've went back to good ol fashioned all-natural butter and just use it sparingly!

Just be careful and not use too much. I used to pour it in my potato soup until someone on here told me it was not fat free at all. But it is interesting to know that a teaspoon is only 2gms. of fat........

mug, a tsp of butter is around 34 calories which is solid and not in liquid form (mixed with whatever to make it sprayable) so its less than butter but still has calories.

I like it too. I eat mostly whole foods but I sometimes use nonfat spray or butter to doctor them. A teaspoon is A LOT of spray! I am going to spray into a container and see how long it takes to get to a teaspoon--I would guess at least a few seconds. Anyone else know? I use it on my fish and on my steamed veggies.

My mom would pour it out to add to her recipes.

There have been many reports of people thinking that butter spray is zero calories and end up using tablespoons of it for recipes thinking they are adding no calories/fat when in fact they are adding a lot. I read a health news article about it sometime last year and it seems to be a common misconception.

I use bacel spray and I like it. It's got no calories, no fat, no carbs. It's a little high on the salt (15 mg per 5 sprays) but I watch how much I use and I find it tastes just like butter. I really like it to add a little flavor to popcorn or steamed veggies.

I think the taste is fine but as a PP mentioned it was a staple in our house and I rarely used regular butter. Ive read that the entire bottle contains 900 calories and 90 grams of fat! Dont know how accurate that is but I would just take it easy with the sprays. Dont dump it on anything or use in recipes.
I rarely use butter or fake butter on anything. Ill sometimes spray a little on broccoli. And on the rare occassion we have a baked potato. I like The ICNINB taste wheN I do use it though
DH uses molly mcbutter on his potato but Id rather have nothing than use that. Its a powder and the whole point of adding something to a baked tater IMO is to make it not so dry. LOL
