Hey everyone!
How are we all today? For me, I'm OK. My workout was, well, I thought it was average, but maybe that's because I'm comparing it to the last couple of workouts which went really well. Things are pretty much cruising for me. I'm trying not to get complacent here and am tracking like a mad thing, but at the moment it seems so easy. That feeling won't last forever, so I've got to make sure I stay focussed. Jen, go you with the exercise! That's awesome! Rhonda, we all have bad weeks, it's those that realise when they've slipped that are the stars for not giving up! Schmoodle, you're having a rough time with the weather! Hopefully it'll improve soon for you! Beverley, I'm pleased you had a great nightw with your friends. Excuse my ignorance, but what's white chili? Is it chili made with white meat? Fractal, welcome aboard. You live in one of my favourite cities in the world - I adored Cardiff when I visited the UK about 6 years ago and could very easily go back! MJ, how fantastic that your knees feeling better! Of course you can do this! Redflame, new month, new start! I like that a lot! Lottie, I know what you mean about going for the easy option during the week. I've had to be organised - I cook a double portion on Sunday night and have the leftovers on Monday since it's usually a rough day at work. If I didn't, it would either be a takeaway or similar for dinner... Mug, no power for a week! You poor thing - I hope it comes back soon! Numina, I think I'll pass on the washboard, but thanks for the offer! ;) The menu today was: B - English muffin, vegemite S - blueberries S - muesli bar L - lamb salad roll, laughing cow wedge D - To be decided... Have an awesome day, guys! |
Good morning ladies :)
Yesterday was another good day except I didn't get in enough water. I was busy at work and kept forgetting to drink and then I fell asleep on the couch so I didn't manage to get the rest of it in before bed. Exercise was good though - my biceps hurt from Sunday so I skipped the upper body work but did an extra 10 minutes on the treadmill. I forgot how good it feels to work out! Today's plan: Bfast: other half of yesterday's wrap Snack: apple and rf cheese stick Lunch: leftover chicken divan Snack: peach Fage yogurt and 1/4 cup of mixed nuts Supper: leftover meatloaf and green beans Snack: chocolate ricotta creme with unsweetened whipped cream I have to work late tonight, but I will do 15 minutes of Wii Fit when I get home. I WILL drink 60+ oz of water today! Nicole - awesome month! Exercise is my hardest thing so I am way impressed with you for making it a habit. Rhonda - I hope the reports go well, look likes a good plan for getting back on track. Schmoodle - here's hoping your week is a great one :) I borrow a lot from SB - my type 2 diabetes demands a fairly low carb diet to keep my blood sugar in line. I scour the SB forum for recipes all the time. I also borrow from the Insulin Resistance Diet by linking whatever carbs I eat with protein. Beverlyjoy - glad you had so much fun watching the game! It's fun to do things like that with friends, mj5 - here's to a better week and month! So glad the knee is feeling better. lottie - it's just me and my husband eating what I make most nights, our son is a super picky eater and pretty much has totally different meals from us - a habit I'm chipping away at. But I eat lots of leftovers for lunches - quicker than making something each day and since I plan healthy suppers, I know I'm having a healthy lunch :) mugcandoit - yikes! I hope your power is back soon. You've been doing an amazing job in tough circumstances. Numina - thank you :) Exercise is my hardest thing so if I don't put it into my plan it's easy to make excuses to not do it. TVP is textured vegetable protein. I get it at Whole Foods. I use it in place of bread/bread crumbs in the meatloaf. I tried a recipe that used ground walnuts once but I got a migraine from it and after doing research I found out that nuts in large quantity are a common migraine trigger especially when doing low carb. For the TVP meatloaf I can't remember if I found the original recipe here or on another website, but I just make a basic meatloaf and use the TVP instead of bread. I put a little tomato sauce in the mix too to moisten it along with eggs, spices, pre-cooked onion, bell pepper, carrots. Then when the meatloaf is almost done I pour more tomato sauce over the top for a glaze. DH really likes it. I make it with ground turkey b/c it's healthier than ground beef but I still use the ground pork for the flavor. Redflame - so cool about the rings, sounds like the start to a great month for you! Happy Healthy Tuesday to one and all, Off to work for me |

Hi everyone! Yesterday when I was at home I realized that I have been kind of half-hearted w/ a lot of things lately--work: I've been working hard, but going in so many directions I don't feel like I have been giving anything really focused attention; my appearance: I sort-of do my hair and make-up, but not as much as I was; workouts: well, we all know what has been going on there ;) I think it all goes hand in hand....(well, maybe not the work part, but the rest)....so starting today, I took the time to REALLY do my hair and make up, dressed a little nicer, etc. I will do a good workout tonight at the gym as well. I know it will all make a difference!

Hey Chickies!
Waterton--I just got three of the BL videos, and I have even taken the cellophane off of them......but I have not started. As soon as the kids figure out where they put that remote I will though! Lottie-"Im Melting......." I take it your are shedding inches, and not a witch from Wizard of Oz! Knobhdy--grilled tofu? I have not tried that, sounds interesting, I wonder if I am that daring. MJ--I know what you mean about half hearted attempts at everything ----and it always seems like we put our appearance last, I feel so much better with hair and makeup done properly, but the makeup is often left to be done while driving......I dont take the time for myself Schmoodle--everytime I read your name I think Poodle Smooches! Jeniansmom--Do you like the wii fit? I have considered it, but that is as far as I got Bev--sounds like your plan is set up for success Mug--I sure hope your power is on soon, but great job at making what you have work on your plan Lottie--eating out can be disasterous for me! But I am very lucky with a son who tries to get dinner ready every week night when I am working Fractal--I read the word "perfect" in your post, No one is perfect, success does not require perfect, it requires that we try! Nicolen- White bean chili is wonderful, white navy beans, chicken breast, broth, mild green chilis and onions, some finishes with monterey jack cheese and sour cream, but some recipes dont. Recipezaar has some great recipes for white chili Rhonda--focus one thing at a time, you have proven that you can get right back on track! Hope I did not miss anyone! Today: Breakfast Yes that is two days in a row! Peanut butter toast and a banana 460 cals Lunch roast chicken 2 ounces, fiber crackers, colby jack cheese, 290 cals Snack almonds Dinner, soup and salad and cottage cheese 550 cals Roughly 1400 cals planned |

Redflame--What a cutie!!!! Breakfast two days in a row, great job! Makeup while driving, now that's a scary thought!
I am seriously thinking about a haircut...a big change, but I don't know if I am brave enough....we'll see. I don't even have an appt yet, so who knows how many times I will change my mind before I actually make the appt!!! LOL! Have you seen the cover of Glamour--Eva Longoria. My hair is curly and could actually do what hers is doing on the cover....not sure I want it that short, though.... |
Hi, ladies! Well done on the plans!
Thanks for the welcome, Nicolen, MJ5 I stuck to the routine, added some more fish and made some yoghurt with gelatine for dessert for tomorrow. Redflame - yeah... not trying to be perfect, just hoping not to stray dangerously often (mostly by skipping exercise). Didn't weigh myself today (I usually used to do this every day but lately have reduced it to every second or third day - I have mechanical scales which, on top of being much less sensitive, don't show pounds but kilogrammes so have to wait longer to see my weight change; oh well, can live with that as long as it goes down lol). |
Hey everyone,
OK, things came crashing down with a vengeance today! In our team meeting I got the prize for the best performer of the month last month :carrot: which was chocolate. And I ate it for afternoon tea instead of my blueberries. Then after work I had to go to the mall to buy birthday cards for the team birthdays for the year - actually, since when did I become the social committee for the team? Hmm, might have to do something about that. Anyway, I ended up getting dinner there. Walked past the sushi and subway and straight to the Chinese. I didn't even make a good choice there - lemon chicken and fried rice. Go me. OK, that's done and I can't do anything about it now. Tomorrow is another day, right? Funny story - we got an email today about the gym next door to work. This is the gym that's supposed to be going in ever since we moved into the buildings 3 years ago. They're opening and are marketing themselves towards a, shall we say more exclusive market. Their advertising states that they're only 7 minutes drive from Cashmere (very expensive suburb) and Fendalton (most expensive real estate in town). Their prices are twice what I'm paying at my gym - and that's the discounted rate. Given that the gym is located deep in an industrial estate with very limited parking and the economic situation at the moment, I'm not expecting it to last too long... Jen, fair enough for missing the upper body workout. Better to take it gently rather than do yourself an injury. Schmoodle, how are you doing? MJ, good for you! How was the workout? Beverley, hope things calm down for you soon! Knobhdy, welcome aboard! I'm looking forward to getting to know you! Lottie, go you with the Wicked Witch impersonations! I mean that in the nicest possible way you realise! ;) Waterton, welcome to you as well! Redflame, your new baby is such a cutie! I want one! Thanks for the info about the chili - here chili tends to be based around minced beef and sometimes a couple of cans of red kidney beans are thrown in to the mix. I might have to have a look on Recipezaar for some recipes at some stage... Fractal, my scale weighs in kilos, pounds and stone. I post my weight in pounds here because that's what most people around here use and understand and my personal record as kilos. OK, so the really bad menu for the day was: B - English muffin, vegemite S - muesli bar L - chicken teriyaki, rice, vege stirfry S - chocolate bar. D - lemon chicken, fried rice. Must do better. Have fun everyone! |
Happy Hump Day :)
Well it's almost hump day for me as I'm working Saturday morning too this week. Yesterday was day 3 back on track and it was a good day. I followed my plan including water. Today's plan: Bfast: 1/2 wrap Snack: Fage yogurt, cheese stick Lunch: the last of the leftover chicken divan Snack: apple and sunflower seeds Supper: a yummy low carb chili (the original recipe is veggie but I add ground turkey and a some linguica - yummy!) Snack: chocolate ricotta creme with unsweetened whipped cream 60+oz of water I will have the house to myself for awhile this evening so I will do one of my 1/2 hour Leslie Sansone tapes. Nicole: you're right, today is a new day, don't beat yourself up about the past. fractal - great job staying on your plan :) lottie - 2lbs so far - whoohoo! Redflame - yay for you and breakfast! I do like the Wii Fit. I don't think I would like it as my only choice of exercise, but it's fun and my son enjoys the balance games - downhill skiing, skii jumping, etc. Those games were fun at a Wii party too. I really like the step aerobics and the boxing and the hulahoop though I have to limit how much hulahoop I do as I end up in pain! I haven't done much with the strength training or the yoga. Your puppy is adorable! Waterton - good for you for changing your eating habits :) knobhdy - great job planning and packing! Beverlyjoy - what's pma? mj5 - it's easy to get complacent about a lot of things isn't it? It's great to take stock and recommit from time to time. Good for you! And I did get all my water in yesterday - thanks for asking :) Schmoodle - yay for being on plan Tuesday! Happy Healthy Wednesday everyone! :) |
