How fast have you lost ring sizes, if at all?

I am getting married in March and I bought my wedding band last summer. I was hesitant to have it sized because it's a channel band and I always intended to lose enough weight in time, but alas... The ring is a 7 and I still wear an 8.5. I have decided not to have it sized in time for our wedding day in hopes that it will fit within the year (I can get the 7 over my knuckle easily, it just doesn't fit the pudge below, lol) so I purchased a fake ring to use temporarily.

So I am curious, how many ring sizes have you dropped and do you know how fast? :)

Thanks girls!

I don't have much experience in the ring department.
But when I lost 40 pounds a few years ago, I wore my high school ring all the time, and I remember getting to the point where it no longer fit (it was falling off all over the place).. So I don't think it takes much to go down ring sizes..

I couldn't wear my size 7 rings anymore after my first 40ish lbs. My husband bought me a gorgeous twisted gold chain for Christmas to wear them on until my goal weight when I will get them sized.

Well, when I got married I was a solid 135-140. I am now at 174ish and I still have the same ring size...

So some people just always have the same size fingers I would say. I do notice that when i am retaining water, around TOM or if I've eaten high sodium, that my ring is VERY tight. Many women carry that water retention in the fingers, you may want to try a lower sodium and higher water diet and see if that makes a difference! You may do that already, but it's a suggestion that could help you see a difference if not... and it's healthy! Good luck!

When I was around 170lbs I wore a 6. Now that I'm 220, I still only wear a 6.5. I have freakishly long thin fingers though for my weight.

I've lost 11 lbs (well, 13 and then gained back 2) and have already lost 1 ring size. My rings flew off in the shower the other day as I washed my hair...they were both size 8. Now I wear size 7.

I used to wear a size 12 ring at my highest size, I now wear a size 7. I don't wear my wedding rings because I want to wait until I'm in the 170s or so before I resize them. They are size 9 and I weighed around 280 when I got sized for them.

Last year, I bought a pretty opal ring from Avon. It fit perfectly when I ordered it. In the one-two months it took to get it, I can't fit into it at all. It just falls off.

I've lost almost 60 pounds, and went from an 8 to a 7. My fingers have always been short and chubby, though, so I don't expect them to get super small.

I have lost 23 lbs and now fit into my size 10&9.5 rings. They are still snug so I keep plugging away. I was not able to wear my wedding band 10 for almost 3 years

My size 7 rings darn near fall off me. In fact, they do fall off me. I tried using a bit of tape but it was just too yucky feeling. Anyone else have suggestions. I am not ready to have them cut and sized down yet.

cf mama, I like the chain idea. I have one in my jewelry chest so I will dig it out.

A year to go from an 8.75 to a 5.5. The sizes didn't rapidly change until I was under 200 pounds.

I don't gain much in my fingers. At my high weight I wore a 6 1/4 which is now falling off. My original wedding set was a 5 1/2, I haven't tried it on since I've lost the weight but I'm sure it would fit fine. You can take your rings to a jeweler and they can put a temporary piece in to keep it from falling off. I need to do this since I'm really scared of losing my wedding ring. Then when I get to goal I'll have it permanently sized down.

I have noticed a huge difference in my ring size but I have short stubby fingers. When I was thin I wore a size 5-6 ring and now I wear about an 8.
