funny fitday thing...

  • I'm simmering my turkey carcass for stock to make yummy LOW CAL homemade turkey veggie soup tomorrow. But when I input into fit day and try to find a value for turkey STOCK I can only get turkey BROTH which sends the sodium content through the roof! I mean I know there's no salt in it because I'm making it... but I wish there was a value for stock.

    Silly fit day.

    /end small rant
  • Heh. You'll probably have to find something similar and use that instead. I looked on Calorie King, and the sodium ranges from 600 to over 900 mg per cup--but again, that's broth. However, the value for "low sodium" broth is around 130 mg.

ETA: All animal-based stocks have some sodium, even if you don't add salt.
  • You can edit it and delete just the sodium content if you figure the remaining values are mostly accurate.
