Maybe I shouldn't admit this...but I never thought of setting excersise goals even though my goals are what keep me motivated in every other area of my life...DUH!!!!!:dizzy: Thanks zerocool! |
Yes, I do have some goals. I used to be a runner and I have dreams of running again. I also want to start hiking and tackle some of the tough trails with beautiful water falls in my area. But, there is one thing that really stands out to me.....I want to get fit enough to try the spinning class at my fitness center. I've heard that its a doozy and has been know to make the newbies....hmmmm...get physically ill? One day, I want to say that I can conquer this class.

My entire current goal is workout related. I am trying to develop a good exercise habit, so my goal is to go to the gym 5-6 days a week for 4 weeks. At the end of that four weeks (the Sunday after Christmas) I will increase my time at the gym by 30min and try to replete that for four weeks. Then I add running, and then running longer, etc. Each 4 week set has a small reward to keep myself going.
At 6 months of solid regular exercise I get a big reward.. probably an iPhone. If I slip a week at don't make at lease 5 workouts, that 4 week segment starts over. So far I have been doing well. |

in fact, i have always been in relatively decent shape for my size my slimmer friends and i disc golf a lot, hike, camp, go to music festivals....etc my first personal goal was to prove to them that i can keep up, or even surpass their energy and abilities. many times i have. and that feels really really good. |
I need to set my goal at getting my butt back in the gym even if water is all I can do right now. Until I have my knee surgery! Then I will kick butt again!

My initial exercise goal was to run a 5K race, which I happily completed red faced and weezing. Now my next goal is to run a local run in my hometown of Bellingham, WA called the Chuchanut Foot Race, it is 7 mile, I did it last summer but I walked about six miles of it so this summer I hope to run the whole thing and beat my time of 2 hours even.

I've never been in love with exercise, so the fact that I've stuck with the treadmill this whole last year is pretty amazing. I've been jogging outside lately which I like so much more than I thought I would have. All the jiggling was really hard to get over at first, but it's getting so much better. My goal is to jog the whole 2 1/4 mile trail I've been doing without walking. It's going to take a few months I think, but that will be great.
