FB, I just ate cheetos! haha! BAD JAMIE! I am, unfortunatly still into the idonized salt, fish (actually chicken) sticks, and cheetos! :)
BUT, BUT, BUT, I AM NOW A RUNNER! I have these cool new legs with different curves in them that I have never had before. |
There are so many things.
I am discovering little things about my body - like my back muscles! Strength training has shown me a whole new (awesome!) side to myself. I found out that my favorite way to eat veggies is roasted. I had no idea how much fun biking on trails is - now I know! I now participate in 5K races regularly, and have found them to be fun. I would have never, ever thought that before. |
One of my favorite things about the process is getting my son and hubby exercising. I love knowing that my son will be healthier because I'm teaching him that. He gripes like crazy when we go jogging, but by the time we are done he's having fun. I love knowing that I'm giving them healthy food, too. It's a bit of a challenge to find things they like, but I am figuring it out. So far turkey meatloaf is one of their favorites. Last week I made a turkey Italian sausage dish with yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, a can of diced tomatoes, carrots and Italian spices, garlic, salt and pepper served over some pasta. They really loved it.

I love to go to my step class at the gym and be on 2 risers where most people are on one or some even just on the plat form. Makes me feel good.
-and lately I've been thinking about stepping it up to 3 risers, but don't want to trip or fall.. lol. I also like when I'm working out on a piece of cardio equipment and someone skinner comes along and trys to do what I'm doing and gets too out of breath and gives up, then they always sneak a look later and say 'wow' That always gives me great encouragement :) |
I may have mentioned this a lot but... I love Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Although now I am almost too embarrassed to do it anymore (fat guy jumping around, kicking not pretty). But I suck it up and go and have a great time. It has been a great way for me to meet people when I travel as well. Where ever I go I can visit a school (most have a first class free policy). I spend a hour working out and meeting locals with similar interests as me. Then I usually buy a T-shirt as a souvenir of my trip.

For me it is all about control. What I enjoying about the process of losing weight this time around is that I am in control of every morsel I put in my mouth (good or bad). Sounds simple, but since I have dedicated myself this time around and KNOW I am in control, the anxiety and stress are gone. I actually look foward to weighing in and seeing my loss.
I am also enjoying challenging myself now with respect to excercising. For years I was doing kickboxing and not getting any better. Now that I have started to lose the weight, I have found that I have gotten so much better than I am now someone people have to keep up with, not the other way around. |
I like that accomplished and proud feeling I get after i finish a spin class, and the awesome feeling of making something healthy and yummy and feeling satisfied after. Knowing that what i put in my body is going to benefit it, instead of make it sick.

What's fun...hmmm....well, it's fun buying clothes in a smaller size.
It's fun when people notice I've lost weight. It's fun to learn about new and different foods - quinoa, Greek yogurt It's fun trying new healthy recipes. It's fun to NOT have a food hangover when I eat on plan. |

You ALL have great input on this! I'm feeling so much better just reading it. It's way too easy to let the combination of grey winter days and weight loss get you down. Isn't the activity so much more fun? Before, it was a task, something that hurt. Now I find myself turning to more and more to exercise in my leisure time. Who knew it didn't have to suck? |
Also - for those who mention getting family involved - isn't that the greatest? It's not only FUN, but keeps me on track. I wouldn't say my husband is nearly the zealot that I am , but it's nice to be able to talk to him about stuff and have hi somewhat relate.

1. I became an early riser. I love *being* that :) (even when I don't love *doing* that)
2. I'm a runner ;) I love being that. 3. I'm a wannabe foodie. Well, anyway, I'm learning! |
I love moving...and not thinking about avoiding stairs or minimizing steps, just running up and down.
I love being able to do more things, again not looking in a museum for the bench and explaining I want to study a picture, when I really just want to get off my feet. I love not being focused on the next meal to the exclusion of other things. I love talking to folks at a party without my hands full of plate, my mouth full of food, and my eyes and mind still focused on the buffet. I LOVE walking into a room and realizing I look great and no larger than many of the other women present...and that despite my current weight folks would not describe be as obese. (Yes, I know I am but we all know that others vastly underestimate weight.) I love wearing pants with zippers and buttons. |
