What Does 100 Pounds Look Like?

As I read FiberLover's thread about her 100 pound weight loss, it inspired me to think of what 100 pounds looks like.

Some of us are visual learners. Post your pictures of what 100 pounds looks like. With modern technology of the World Wide Web, I'm sure we should be able to come up with very interesting pictures. You can also post your own pictures like FiberLover did.

FiberLover: Please feel free to re-post your picture here. :)

Okay, I'll go first.

Here's what 100 pounds looks like:

Wow, I am seriously dumbfounded to think I carry as much extra weight on me as all of those sugar bags. I've handled 1kg and 2kg bags before (2.2-4.4 lbs), and those are heavy. So 40-50 times that much weight.. how astounding. This is very motivating.

Sandi 07-29-2008 02:52 PM

I carry around 2 punching bags?!?!!? No wonder I am so damn tired!!!

SunshineCA 07-29-2008 10:36 PM

BeautifulOne: Thanks re: my name. My parents would thank you as they both take credit for naming me. I give FiberLover credit from her photo. It just made me think of what we all are carrying, or should I say, lugging around. Ouch!!

These images are amazing!! Thanks for posting guys! :D You rock! :)

Here's my latest contribution:

lizziep 07-30-2008 01:57 AM

wow- those punching bags - that's a real eye opener!

omg- all that mary jane- how i started getting fat in the first place! lol. stupid teenage years.:nono:

QueenBee3 07-30-2008 09:57 AM

I found these on http://netto818.blogspot.com/2006/10...ed-pounds.html

A large male deer can easily weigh 100 pounds.

http://s103.photobucket.com/albums/m...t20pumpkin.jpg

Burpee Big Maxx pumpkin with a 70" diameter weighs in at 100 pounds. That includes all the gunk inside that you have to scrape out to make a jack-o-lantern.

***EDIT*** I don't know why the pics aren't working. What did I do wrong? Anywho, check out the link, there's a bunch on there

The munchies, eh?

beautifulone 07-30-2008 02:40 PM

Wow, 100 lbs is a very small person - not usually a grown adult. But an adult male deer, that's another eye-opener!

About those punching bags, I think you can get punching bags of different weights - like 25 lb, 80lb, 100 lb, 150lb, 200 lb, 300lb, etc. The heavier the bag, the less sway it has. So the punching bag we may be used to may be a diferent weight than 100 lb, could be under or over. STILL, I'm guessing 100lbs makes for a hefty punching bag! What an eye-opener!

"The Zoo's website says that Miss Elephant eats 100 pounds of food every day."

So, somehow I've eaten enough extra food/calories to feed an elephant???

Second picture --
Each horn on the cute little critter weighs approximately 100 lbs.

GradPhase 07-30-2008 08:52 PM

Woah!!! What kind of animal is THAT, Shelby??

shelby897 07-30-2008 10:02 PM

Not sure -- some kind of cow/long horn guy?? I guess I've grown out of my "farmer roots" since I have no idea :D

SunshineCA 08-01-2008 09:35 AM

Good morning everyone! Happy August!! :D

I haven't been on in a couple of days. My DH was off so we had a lot of "us" time. I logged on briefly via my Sidekick but couldn't post my 100 pound picture. So....here's my latest contribution:

pamatga 08-01-2008 01:55 PM

I'll raise you a Paige, one Friday and half a turtle!

I hear ya! I have got to lose a Paige, a Friday and half a turtle. My scales at home said I weighed 287 lb at my highest but when I weighed on my Mom's scales, they were 30 lbs heavier than mine at home. Yikes!!! If I could find two scales that agreed with each other...maybe two Paiges.... who knows. All I know is that I gained most of this weight by giving Ground Round, Hardees, et al ---favorite restaurants my "business". I want a refund on my money!!!

So you will see me hangin around here for quite some time to come!

 Looks like Paige, Friday and the turtle are our cheerleaders and mascots. :)

If only we could all get our money back from fast food and other things that weren't good for us. I'd be a rich woman indeed! :)

piper10 08-02-2008 04:28 AM

Well, shoot. I've been thinking about my weight loss in terms of bags of sugar. Now, thanks to Eileen, I will be picturing losing my daughter-in-law!! She's 5'8" or 5'9". YIKES!!!!

x meowkat x 08-02-2008 03:46 PM

Wow...to think all these things are the amount of extra I'm carrying around....makes me want to cry, actually. But I know I'm on the right track to losing it all, so I cheer up a little bit. Anyhow, here's my contribution to this thread:
