Hello and WELCOME!!! So glad you're here.

And even happier that you've made the decision to get healthier. Taking control of your weight is the single most important thing you can do for you and that 20 month old son of yours.

As far as intuitive eating goes, I will tell you for ME and we are all different, that just doesn't work. 165 lbs down - and my intuition STILL tells me to eat - and eat - and eat (and not necessarily the right things). I need the accountability and portion control that counting calories proivdes. Along with counting calories, I choose to eat healthy foods, high fiber (think veggies, fruit) and low fat protiens(chicken/turkey breast, egg whites, veggie burger products, FF/SF yogurt, fish) because they provide me with the most satisfaction and allow me to get the most volume for my calorie budget.

I also could not have lost the weight & now maintain that loss without PLANNING AHEAD. Eating healthy does not happen by chance. I must plan it out in advance and know what I will be eating every single day. I keep my home stocked with delicious healthy foods and have elminated the junk.

One other thing, I eat often - every 2 - 2 1/2 hours so that I don't get too hungry.

Knowing we need to lose weight is fine and dandy - but IMO one MUST set themselves up for success. The calorie counting, the planning, the healthy foods, the elmination of the junk, the eating frequently all help me immensely.
Add in some daily activity and a healthy lifestyle is there for the taking.

Best of luck to you. I look forward to hearing much more from you. :smug:
