Paul McKenna's ~ I can make you thin
This guy is a UK Hypnotist. Or that's what I remember him as.... :) There's still an element of that in his audio tapes for weight loss (you're supposed to do them lying down with your eyes closed.... bit of a give away ;) ) ... but my Mum told me about him on her last visit and apparently his methods are very successful and very popular over there. His site quotes him as being the best selling non-fiction author in the UK.
So anyway... I thought I'd share some of his stuff here in case anyone is interested. He says that you need to act like a naturally thin person in your approach to eating and food... which sounds like a good plan! Quote:

He's got a TV show now. I watched a little bit of it last night. It's called "I Can Make You Thin". The little that I saw was about tapping yourself when faced with emotional desire to eat.
He showed a few people how to tap themselves on various acupuncture points of the body (below the eye, the chest, the hand). People on the show claimed it made their emotional desire to eat go away. I didn't try it, honestly it looked boring so I changed the channel. Next show it's supposed to deal with food cravings. Maybe I'll watch that one. |
I saw the first show, and what he says DOES make a lot of sense. I actually relayed it to someone tonight when we were eating out, and she thanked me for that tidbit, because she ended up eating only half of the food that she had gotten.
I am a bit wary, but pretty much from my limited viewing....he makes a LOT of sense for the most part. And he does explain WHY his rules are the rules, instead of saying "do this and you'll be thin!" So far, I dont' have TV, so I'm not really gonna try and catch his shows, but I might later on. |
I've done the tapping thing before, not for weight loss, it's also used to relax and deal with panic attacks. It works, I've learned how to completely calm myself and get centered. I'd be curious to watch the show, I am never home when it's on though :(

I took a class on "tapping" last fall. I never got much out of it, but I am not sure how seriously I took it either.
It's called EFT. |
