Resetting goals - for now.

So, went to the doctor today & confirmed it. I'm pregnant! We've been trying for 6 years so this is fantastic.

...but, it means I need to reset my goals for the time being. So with approval from my doctor these are my new goals for the next 9 months:

-continue my healthy eating habits with a few adaptations (less tuna, more milk)
-continue my exercising (although the jury is still out on if/how much of my weight lifting I need to cut back on)
-gain no more than 10lbs over the course of the pregnancy (because of the extra weight I still have this is perfectly acceptable)

Congrats!!! That's great news. I think you have a great plan. It's so important to take care of yourself and be as healthy as you can for you and your baby.

What wonderful news!! Congratulations!!

There are a bunch of pregnant women at my gym, and several still weight lift. I saw one woman on the elliptical the day before she delivered, so if you're healthy enough, you certainly can incorporate exercise into a pregnancy.

Please don't disappear so that we know how you're doing, okay?

Congrads!! I have a couple books bout Pregnancy fitness. They say that what you did before you can continue to do during the first trimester. In the second and third trimester avoid straight leg lifts elevate your upper boddy on the bench (my instructor would put a few risers on end of the step and none on the other). She kept teaching our class till she was 38 weeks along! BUT of course your doctor will know whats best for you! :D
