Does anyone do anything special.......

Does anyone do anything special the night before you weigh in?? Or is there certain foods you stay away from or certain foods you eat the day before?? Just a little curious.

Hi,

I try very hard not to snack the night before - so while on some nights I might have plain popcorn (no butter no salt), I try NOT to before weighing in.

I don't eat anything special or do anything else really. I try not to douse myself in too much water, else I might show water weight the next day. I usually just drink my usual amount.

Whether conscious or not, I also try to stay away from saltier foods the day before -- like feta cheese or something else I know is higher in sodium.

Hope that helps!

nope. but I've started waiting atleast half an hour before I weigh myself the morning of my WI because I've noticed I can come in a whole pound lighter some days.

nope!!

rockinrobin 02-15-2008 11:25 PM

Ummm, you mean like in order to get a better weigh-in?

Nope.

And valpal, you weigh the least about 3 hours after waking up, so I've read and so I've found to be true.

thanks for the tip robin... I really chug the water so it's all I can do to stay dry for half an hour but I'll have to try that!

I treat weigh ins now just like I did before I put on all this weight. I wear what ever I happen to have on. I generally do a weigh in between 3 and 4 pm because that is when my daughter gets home from school and we go to the docs for the weigh in every two weeks. I figure, I am not going to do anything special for a weigh in once I get all this weight off. Might as well not do anything special for a weigh in now. My daughter makes me laugh. She wears her lightest clothes to school on weigh in day and takes her glasses ( if she didn't wear her contacts that day ) off before she does a weigh in.

Nope.

But I have gotten in the habit of not writing everything down the day of a weigh-in. I cannot help but count calories in my head and keep a running total and I seem to do well overall...

Jasmine31 02-16-2008 03:26 AM

I am going to try that 3 hour thing. lol

I used to. Now I am not weighing myself on a daily or weekly basis anymore. The scale is evil. The tape measure and body fat measurement are my best friend now. The scale is mostly useless. Just my opinion.

Not really, I do try not to binge the night before, though :D

With a weekly weigh in, it's hard not to have some dinner out or special occasion that is going to fall the day before anyway. Gotta learn to live with it.

I weigh in at 6:00 pm on Thursdays. So the night before I don't eat anything after dinner and I try to keep my sodium low. I do a crazy last chance workout the next morning and I eat very light during the day. I cut off all liquids at 3:00pm. By 7:00pm when I leave the meeting I'm starving and needing a big glass of water. :D

GirlyGirlSebas 02-16-2008 11:22 AM

My official weigh-ins are first thing Monday morning. I flex my calorie number each day, so Sunday is usually my lower day. Also, on Sunday I'm careful about eating anything with a significant amount of sodium and I don't do any resistance training.

CountingDown 02-16-2008 11:28 AM

Nope. I figure that any "tricks" I try will eventually backfire if I don't do them.

The number on the scale is what it is. It does not determine my success or my failure. It is only one indication of how my plan is working. There are way too many variables that affect the final number.

Rather, I weigh myself a few times each week. Thus, when I see a gain, I don't panic - just keep OP. Within a week or so, the number drops back down.
