Dana, the string beans ARE yummy. And they're just as good and even more satisfying then all the junk we've been so used to. If we're ever going to get anywhere with this weight loss, we MUST find SUBSTITUTES for the junk foods we normally eat/ate. Going off plan even one day a week can really sabotage our weight loss efforts. And for what really? Is is really worth it? So when you have a gathering, make foods that are delicious - no deprivation therefore, just make them HEALTHY. Change your way of thinking what "party" food or "weekened" food or "treat" foods are. That's the idea.
Roasted Green Beans
Make a lot, they really are yummy.
-Green beans, rinsed and trimmed.
-Spray a large cooking sheet with cooking spray.
-Lay beans on in as much as a single layer as possible.
-I add tons of fresh coarsely chopped garlic and chopped onions about 1/2 way through, and a little sea salt
-Spray beans with some more cooking spray
-Place in 400 degree oven for about 30-40 mins, turning every now and then, til they get almost brownish and wrinkly.
