Sounds like you found something you enjoy...and, you're getting a wonderful workout! Congratulations!

That's awesome. I think a big part of being active is finding something that you love.

math puppy, that rocks! I wish they had something like that around here.

How exciting....great exercise doing something you enjoy, and a bit of self defense in there too! Good for you!

Martial Arts is great!!!

I found it about 4 years ago - to me it isn't boring like going to the gym. Always learning.

I'm about to go for my black belt in Isshinryu Karate. Been working at it 3 years. I started losing weight so I wouldn't be huffing and puffing so much. I think I'll lose about 15 more pounds - the test is scheduled for the first week in February.

I also take TaiChi - been taking that about 4 years. It has done wonders for my bad knees and got me moving so well I started the karate after about a year.

Don't give up -- It's all about practice and moving and becoming that badass you always wanted to be

Sounds like fun. I might need to keep my eye out for a class around here.

I've been wanting to box for years and recently started doing a bit with my personal trainer and love it. It's so true about how much easier it is to exercise if you are doing something you enjoy doing.

Morning,

I totally agree with you! I've been doing Goju Ryu karate now since last May, and not only does it provide a killer workout, it really helps build the self confidence and skills as well.

My dojo also offers Kendo (japanese swords), Nunchaku, Aikido, Bo-staff and other arts too - they're lots of fun.

I've lost 45+ pounds now (I'll be posting my final stats on the 20th, as it will have been a full year on my new lifestyle change), and the martial arts definitely helped.

Here are some of my favorite MA sites:
