I am digging the Kashi granola bars right now, too. A little dry, but great with a cup of coffee.

There are a TON of great ideas in this thread. I had forgotten about the frozen grapes until I read about them.

I'm glad you found something that worked for you, Cuter w Curves, and congratulations on the great losses so far! The fabulous thing about 3FC is that it is full of people who are succeeding or have succeeded on so many different plans with different goals...its a big part of why I love it so much.

My favorite snacks

During the day:

1) Roasted soy nuts, 1/4 cup, all time favorite
2) Trader O's, 1 cup, feels like I've eaten big time. Better than Cheerios.
3) Apple - Ginger Gold is my favorite this week. That changes often during apple season.
4) Quaker oat squares cereal, 1/2 cup, just love them.
5) Two corn tortillas, thoroughly toasted, cut into wedges like chips, with salsa. Mango salsa is current favorite.

Evenings after dinner:

6) Half a mango.
7) Half a grapefruit.
8) California navel orange.
9) Black seedless grapes (not as easy for me to bound the volume consumed)
10) Quarter of a melon - cantaloupe, honeydew, mini watermelon

Jello Fruit passion's with a Tblsp of FF Coolwhip

7 reduced fat Triscuits, topped with a 1/4 tsp of salsa and a monteray jack cheese stick that I sliced into 7 equal portions.

A Thomas 100 calorie 5gr. of fiber english muffin toasted and topped with peanut butter and jelly.

Those 3 cover my sweet, salty, and comfort food. ;)

-An egg white omlette with a sliced broiled zucchini. Very filling and satisfying
-Hard boiled egg whites with a little salt
-Measured out cereal, Fiber One with a few raisins
-FF/SF Danon Lite and Fit yogurt with 1/4 cup of Fiber One Cereal. I partially freeze the yogurt. It is EXCELLENT.

-3 oz. can of tuna in water, romaine lettuce. Sometimes I'll have a whole big salad with it, no dressing
-Salad, with balsamic vinegar
-Grape tomatoes, baby carrots and celery.

-Sugar Free Jello

I've moved the corn posts to the food and nutrition forum since it was pointed out that it should have it's own thread. It should make for an interesting debate :)

Heather, thanks for reminding me about frozen grapes, I just bought some grapes yesterday ($1/lb for seedless black)

I am changing up my diet a bit so my snacks have changed a bit as well.

- Raw veggies (celery, carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, snap peas)
- Veggies with hummus
- Fruit (tangerines, peaches, plums, apples, etc)
- Nuts (portioned)
- Different type of "salads" such as bean salad (beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, spices) or beet salad (shredded beets, carrots, apples, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, ginger, salt, pepper)

And that my dear is why I avoid all of those bar type foods and those 100 calorie packs.

mandalinn82 10-10-2007 11:31 AM

The -only- bars/100 cal packs that don't give me the "eat all 6" effect are the Kashi ones, I think because they are less candy-like and more oats-dried fruit-nuts stuck together without a lot of additional sweetness.

Stick me in front of a 100 cal pack (except popcorn) and it becomes a 600 cal pack REALLY quickly.

nelie 10-10-2007 12:06 PM

Oh I do love the 100 calorie pack popcorns, they are great! I keep them at work. I am trying to give up dairy and although I don't think I need to be entirely strict about it, I was surprised to find that every 100 calorie pack of popcorn I looked at contained milk. Yes I know its minimal but still, I was surprised.

mandalinn82 10-10-2007 12:09 PM

I'd almost rather it had milk to make up the "butter flavor" than "imitation butter flavor". My package only has milk as part of the list of "butter" ingredients. I am actually surprised to see that real butter is used, rather than "natural and artificial flavors".

boaterswife 10-10-2007 12:09 PM

Baby carrots
Yoplait FF yogurt
94% FF micro popcorn
Any fresh fruit in the house!
Whatever leftover veggies I have from the previous night's dinner...zap in the micro for a minute and I feel like I'm eating a meal, but it's either 0 or 1 ww point!

True! I live in an imaginary world though where if you don't want butter flavoring on your popcorn then that is what you get. My plan is to check whole foods and see if they have other options and also limit it to a homemade snack. My imaginary world also contains lots of no sugar/no sweetener added foods.

SuchAPrettyFace 10-10-2007 01:29 PM

apples, love the yellow & green the best
100 calorie packs of unsalted almonds
pitted dates, i shove the almonds in there sometimes
string cheese & low sodium wheat thins
smart balance peanut butter and healthy life bread
a box of raisins, Dole is the best
a pre-measured package (I make my own baggies) of Puffins cereal (I like the cinnamon flavored)
