I've had good intentions all week, but not necessarily good actions 100% of the time. I need to get focused and get busy!

Cassie - I LOVE this one! Yes - I torture myself at night when I'm not on plan. When I am on plan, I am almost always a little hungry (I stop eating several hours prior to bed, per Bob Greene's recommendation), but proud. So, if you're good with it, I'm borrowing it. I also want to feel good about myself tonight when I lay down to go to sleep!

I'm just curious, why does Bob recommend this? Do you sleep okay? Sometimes, I have trouble sleeping (hormones...argghh!) and, if I'm hungry, I have even more trouble.

I used to have trouble sleeping when I was hungry, too - and that may actually be why I dream about food three or four nights a week. (Oh, man - if dreams had calories - I would be rivaling the 1000-pound man right now!!) The book that I read said that sleep is better and more restful if you go to bed with very little in your stomach. I know that, now, when I eat close to bedtime, I wake up still feeling full, and don't want to eat anything for several hours after I wake. I used to feel this way all of the time in the mornings, and I'd be a little nauseous on most mornings because of it. Now, I wake up completely ravenous, and I am so excited for my high-fiber cereal or my fat-free yogurt or whatever I'm having for breakfast that morning. It took me a while to get out of the habit of snacking "just a little," but I remember something Oprah said in relation to this advice. She had been losing weight with Bob, and got stuck at about 180. She said that it didn't seem to matter what she did - the scale just wouldn't move. It wasn't until she gave up eating anything after 7:00 p.m. (not my cut-off time, BTW, as my bedtime is later than hers) that she moved off of the plateau. Now, she says she won't even let a single grape pass her lips. I find that this level of restriction is really good for me, as I have a tendency to eat "just a few high-fiber crackers" that can easily turn into many crackers and escalate into other foods.

Food is NOT what I dream about! (unless you count the strawberries & whipped cream!)

Well of course you can "use" it!

I am the same way though..if I've been off plan for the day, I feel terrible at night. If I've had a good day, however, I really lay there and give myself a mental "pat on the back", because I feel proud that I've had another successful day on this journey.

Doing well today!

Brother in law finally got engaged.

So we're going to Hawaii next year for the wedding (in the rainforest surrounded by waterfalls and flowers).

I want to be beach-worthy

Yeah Lyn -- congratulations!!!

Okay, I'm a night owl, so if you don't mind, I'll post for tomorrow --

I'm staying on plan today because I think I realized there is a difference in "my legs feel tight from working out" and "my legs feel tight because I gained 20 lbs in three months"!! I want to go back to the muscles and not the fat!!

Too funny!!!

Sadly, it's not about strawberries and whipped cream for me in my dreams. Just baked goods, it seems - cookies, donuts, cake. Not even stuff that I normally salivate over in real life.
