Mug: Please keep your chin up and know that you have a great support system here. I wouldn't have made as far as I have if not for my internet buddies. I have to echo Robin here.... I had a horrible time with motivation at first but the question I had to ask myself several times a day (still on some days) is, "Am I willing to do what it takes?" There hasn't been a day yet that I can be ok with the answer being "No, I'm not". It has to be that way. Also, it may help to channel the things you already know about yourself and apply them in a positive way in your life instead of negative. For example, I am an overachiever. I am obsessive. I am aggressive. I don't know when to give up. These traits are not things that I'm really proud of, but they're true and I've turned them around a little. Used to be I'd beat a relationship into the ground for way too long (not knowing when to give up) but now I can't give up eating well and exercising. See what I mean? I know it's not easy but I believe you can do this. :) |
Yep you're right Mug...sometimes it doesn't matter what the offending food is in a binge....I know I've binged on "healthy-ish" things before, like cheese, cereal, peanut butter, MILK, crackers......

Do you think you would benefit from the additional support of a weight-loss support group? I tend to do better when I have to weigh in and be held accountable to others on a weekly basis, so I go to a TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) group.
I totally agree that having a "project" helps! How about picking up a book from the library about weight loss? That might give you some ideas to get excited about. Some interesting ones might be "Thin People Don't Clean Their Plates", "Superfoods Rx", "You: On A Diet" etc. |
