""I guess if it works for you its ok, BUT.... It's not gonna work for you because it didn't work for me" "

Actually, that's not what I was saying at ALL. Text alludes me sometimes so I'm sorry if you read it that way because I actually thought I was being supportive, but you know I can take my ball and play elsewhere. :)

There seems to be lots of misunderstandings igoint on in this thread, and that's unfortunate. It is very hard to get ones message across exactly as we'd like it toover the internet. We really need to keep that in mind.

Caroline, I think the word we used was MOST plateaus are self-induced. That's certainly not all, but MOST. It's just that for some people and definitely not all, if they are brutally honest and take a good hard look at how they've been doing, they will usually realize it was brought on by something they were doing. You hear things like, well, I've been so exhausted, I've only exericsed twice this week. Or, but there were those 2 parties. Or Anne brought my favorite donuts into the office. Or, but I've been soooo hungry. Or I got a little lazy with measuring. Or TOM was here and I had craving after craving. Or I know I should really up the protein. Or whatever.

Have you had a full check up by your doctor recently? Or how about you let us know what kind of plan you're on and we can see if perhaps we can indeed help you out and try to figure something out. Ya know, shake things up a bit. Let's give it a try.

Idealmuse, this is obviously a tender subject. We would all appreciate it if you would please leave your ball right here and continue playing with us thank you very much! ;)

I know that it may seem like the folks who did not endorse your 1200 calorie plan seemed like they weren't endorsing you, but you must understand that we have thousands of readers and it's the various opinions that make this site what it is. Someone may read your 1200 calorie post and think "that's what I'll do" It helps that person to see the other side too. We are more than warm and fuzzy here - we share our personal experiences and sometimes they don't mesh with what works for other people. It's nothing personal.

When I am on plan 1800 has always been my magic number, but I have a HUGE problem with "filling up" the 1800 if I don't in fact use all my calories throughout the day. At my size, I wouldn't consider going lower, but sometimes like you, I am full on less. If after dinner, I have 250 calories left, I would figure out what I can eat for 250 calories. This is so not cool when I have 400 calories left. So I definitely see what you mean about that. I am trying very hard to change that this time and just consider the unused calories as bonus. This time 1800 is very much a guideline and not a rule.

To have not been able to lose for such a long time would be frustrating, but I think you're much past a "plateau" and that it really might be time to see a doctor. There are all kinds of metabolic disorders and other medical conditions that may be at work here.

I'll buy you a new ball! ;)

Yeay, can I have a purple one please?! Woo Hoo.

I'll even share! We can burn some calories!

Okay, sorry just trying to lighten the mood.
