Talking Back from Vacation - what a motivation!

Hey ladies!! I'm back from my week vacation in Ottawa. It was great. I went to lots of Museums, Parks, and great restaurants and just soaked up the beauty of the capital. The scenery of the historic place edged on the river was just fantastic.

I didn't splurge too bad on the trip. I don't think I've gained any weight. The trip involved lots of walking which was great.

On the day before the last we hiked up an escarpment (sp?) which is something like a small mountain/big hill made of rock (some of the hardest in Canada). The way up wasn't so bad but the way down had me out of breath like it was a work out. A few times I thought I'd loose my balance (clipping up huge rocks for photos) but once we reached the top it was the most incredible view of the Ottawa river and a small french town. I have no idea how high we were but the cars looked like ants and we couldn't see the people at all.

On the last day the group went white water rafting. My husband and I decided we'd go canoeing because he doesn't swim well and my 16 month old daughter was with us. The ladies van was running so late. Someone told someone something and the next thing you know my husband thinks we are meeting at the 2nd point not the base camp. In the end, I took turns kayaking with another group member who hurt her shoulder and couldn't do much. My husband DID go white water rafting and loved it. He said it was scary but amazing. His raft did tip but he managed to do ok.

Anyway, ALL of this got me really motivated. I think I'm an outdoorsy girl in hiding. I never did anything adventures, hiking or camping as a kid (plus my mom was very big an inactive) and now I think it's coming out. I'd like to do go on some canoeing/kayaking/rafting trips. Throw in some biking and it calls for a super fit vacation. And I noticed they have bungee jumping....I totally want to try that!!

I missed you ladies!

Yesterday was the first day back and I'm already back to my plan. I went to the gym and did 3 miles on the eliptical (took about 40 minutes). Then I slept from like 7 at night till 9:30 this morning. I was in alot of pain from badly burning my arm and some of my chest. The other arm didn't get burnt and my face just got super tanned.

Now to unpack and do laundry........

Hey great job! That sounds like so much fun. I can't wait for these pounds to come off so outdoor activities become more enjoyable. You better take some pics when you go bungee jumping. YIPPEE!!!!
