I am back and I survived!

Hi everyone!

Well - I made it back from the trip to DH's home.......

The anniversary party was great........

I sat down with DH before we left and had one MORE talk with him about everything that has gone on with the SIL in the past and how I felt - and he has been understanding each time we have discussed it (we knew we had this visit coming up since Feb) anyway - this time - he told me that we would be together the whole time (at least able to have eye contact so I could send the emergency signal if needed... and this time if she insisted on being horrid to me - HE was going to handle it... surprise surprise - with him constantly around - it wasn't too bad.

We had to get pictures taken and I hate that - but you know, I don't care so much now.... I don't know what I will do with our copy of it... but, when I had to go up there - I was like - you know, so what, yeah - I am really overweight - but everyday I am doing something about it - so there!

Everyday that we were gone - with exception of the day we left to come home - we (DH and I) went for a walk/jog each morning. OMG - It is sooo different then being on the treadmill - there were a couple of mornings that I honestly thought that I was not going to make it back alive... but it felt great!

The downside to the whole trip - on the way back home - our car broke down and we had to leave it in another state and it is going to cost $3000 to get it fixed. AARRRGGGHHH

So I managed lots and lots of stress and still managed to eat healthy and exercise - I am actually looking forward to my weigh-in next week. And I just could not wait to get back home and tell you all how I managed.... this has been an obsession for me for months - I have been so worried about how I would handle all of this and I can say that I did GREAT!

Ahh, the emergency signal. I know it well. Good for your husband stepping up like that.

Nice job handling the stress and eating well away from home. That's never easy. I hope you have a great weigh-in.

With the exception of your car, it sounds like things went, really, really well. I'm really glad to hear of this. :)

It's such a nice feeling to know you stuck with your program while away - GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Glad you are back!
