leg pain

I always wondered the same thing.

do you walk through the pain
or do you take a day or two off

I know today my legs are sore especially the shins and quads.
I did squats with weights yesterday and then walked on the treadmill
today I did not feel like walking at all but I made myself do it, I may have been slower but I was moving and I felt that was better than skipping the workout.

Does anyone here do weight training, if so how many minutes did they start out doing.

thank you

I took a weight training class, and it wasn't the total amount of time that we measured but the number of reps. We chose a weight that was heavy enough to be difficult, but not so heavy we couldn't use proper form. Then, we would do three sets of 8-12 reps. I haven't done weight training very well lately, as my gym doesn't have weights and my children have used my strength training bands to play many, many games (who knew they were so versatile?), but I used to do top one day, then bottom the next. The muscles need time to heal. I did probably 8-10 different types of movements, and rotated through them three times. Abs, however, can be done every day - at least that's how I understand it. From the very beginning, I did the full rotation, but did increase the weight as I got stronger.
