This is the scoop 100lb club members.
During the month of May, I was really on top of my program down to 223lbs (loss of 44lbs on May 19th)
. Well on this same day, my husband and I were surprised with a POSITIVE pregnancy test. I immediately fell into panic mode and called my OBGYN. We were excited and really glad that it finally happened but still - shocked.
After 5 months of eating healthy and exercising like a mad woman since 3Jan, I didn't have an idea that I could be pregnant. I am not a regular cycle person and after 2 negative tests (December06 and early January07), I figured that I just was not going to have a cycle. And add to it a drastic change to calories in/out . . . I thought it was perfectly OK not to have a cycle. Well, on the 19t my husband urged me to go get a test. I waited one wk for my OB visit. And I expected to hear that I was 4-8 wks pregnant. He blew my mind and Hubby's too when he said , "You are 18w6d Oreg and expect to have a little one around October 24th.
I was so far along at the first visit that the OB told me that if I wanted to know the sex that he would tell us. No, I didn't feel anything and no I didn't notice a major difference in belly size. I will note that I had constantly noted that everything was shrinking but the tummy. It wasn't getting larger yet, but not keeping up with the rest of the disappearing act. I even told hubby that I must have located my "problem area." WOW! Was I off base.
We are all excited about the new baby. And are so thankful to be able to add another little one to the family. So, now I am almost 6months pregnant still eating healthy (more calories of course) and exercising 3d per week (walking).
So, I am still being vigilant about being healthy for myself and baby. But, there is nothing that will create a shift in focus - like getting ready for a newborn after so long.
