17 weeks

I cannot believe what I've accomplished in 17 weeks. Sometimes I just have to stop and catch a breath. Seriously....I am 44 POUNDS lighter than I was just 17 weeks ago!!!! Why didn't I do this 5 years ago???? I'm trying to picture myself in another 17 weeks. October seems so far away....but the time has flown since January so I know it will be the same way. Will I be another 44 pounds lighter??? Will my total be 88 pounds????? My mind whirls at the thought!

Thank you girls so much for being here every day. You cannot know how much you have truly helped me. I've been inspired, motivated, challenged, and angered into making these changes for myself and ultimately for my children. It's been a GREAT ride so far! I can't wait to see where it takes me from here!!!

LisaMarie71 05-14-2007 08:57 PM

Yay, Tricia!! :cheer2:

You've done such an amazing job! 44 pounds -- just think of how much you used to be carrying around and now it's gone. GONE! And the time would've passed regardless, but here you are. You took advantage of that time. I always think of it that way -- the time will pass whether I do this or not, so I might as well do what I need to do!! When we start it seems like such a long way away, but doesn't it feel wonderful along the way??

It's especially wonderful that we all get to share these moments of celebration and joy with each other.

Congratulations Tricia. That is just awesome. You have done a remarkable amazing job in just 17 weeks time. It really is mindlboggling when you stop and think about it. Who knew that life altering transformations could take place in such a short time? Keep up the truly phenomenal work!!! Go get em girl, cause before you know it another 17 weeks WILL pass - just think of the possibilities. :)

jennylou 05-15-2007 08:17 AM

You are doing an awesome job! :)

boaterswife 05-15-2007 08:56 AM

Oh, Tricia! We are all so proud of you and your accomplishments. It is mind boggling, isn't it? I know I feel the same as you....if I'd have realized that I could do it, and what a difference it would make, I'd have done it years ago. You keep going; those next 17 weeks are going to pass whether you're on plan or not, so why not make the most of them? The possibilities are endless, and I just know you'll be a different person in October than you are even now! WOW!!

Janny O 05-15-2007 09:25 AM

Congrats!!!!! I know EXACTLY how you feel. Sometimes, (just a little bit) I wonder if we've lost it too fast. But, what the heck!!! It's a life change. Whooohooo to you!!!!!

Tricia - you and I started about the same time with about the same weights and goals. Seeing your numbers go down every week is inspiration for me to keep on track too! I am coming up on week 20 - and (like you!) am just amazed at the transformations that have taken place in me. THIS is OUR year ~ and I can't WAIT to see what October has in store for us! ;)

Seeing everyone's postive (well, duh) take on your 17 week turn around, got me to thinking. I remember when I first started out almost 8 1/2 months ago. And you know how we all think about how we will be depriving ourselves when we embark on a weightloss journey. All the foods we have to pass up on and all the time spent exercising. I remember way back when I had first started out and told myself this time it was going to be different, I wasn't going to look at it as depravation. I was going to look at it as wow, this IS exciting. If I DO give up the bad stuff and DO take time to exercise that I really and truly can accomplish something. I really can make my life BETTER. That time will pass one way or another and if I stick to my plan I can absolutely and positively lose weight and improve my life. I don't know, this thread just reminded me of that. And I think you may have just helped a lot of people by showing them that. That is really is possible to change ones life around and you know what, it doesn't take all that long. :smug:

That's exactly my point! I wasn't trying to give myself a pat on the back even though I do appreciate everyone's nice words. I was just realizing that days become weeks...and if you're on plan it just happens. I don't want to imply it was effortless, because everyone here knows that isn't the case, but it was NOT has difficult as I had felt it was going to be for all the years I didn't even try. I guess all I'm trying to say is that looking back, 17 weeks really isn't that long! It is DOABLE! The next 17 weeks is DOABLE...and the 17 after that! I can do this for the rest of my life!

Mrs. Q. - I think our journey's being so similar is why I'm always just a TAD more exited for you when I hear of your success :) (if that makes any sense). I SOOOO look forward to us maintaining goal together!

 all around!

That is so touching, and one of the big reasons why this forum is such a nice place! Besides your positive attitude, this sets the tone for how we support and benefit each other. Thank you, Tricia!
