I'm a Nike girl. Just got a new pair last weekend and I love them.

i still highly recommend having your gait analyzed...but you still have to try different shoes on. I have worn several different brands from new balance to ryka to saccuony. Each shoe is differnt. I personally don't find a "Sales push" at the place i go to. I do admit some may be pushing shoes, but that's why i seem to like the running stores. It seems they specialize in making sure ppl find the right shoes..heck they even have all the pairs i bought on the computer and if i go in and say i want the pair i bought last time but forgot what it was..bingo, they'll let me know. I have had such bad luck just trying on shoes. I'll go to a DSW or something similar wear the shoe around and think it feels great, then take it home, go for a walk and find out 20 min later my feet are killing me. But good luck. I do find that Nike runs small if you have wide feet. I can't ever wear nike for that reason.

Oh runners - I have gone thru a LOT of shoes!! I had a pair of Nike's that were the most comfortable shoes I've ever tried on - the next pair (same model) were crap. I'm now wearing Mizuno, I got fitted for them, it was totally worth it. I also paid LESS than I would for any other shoes. It's totally worth it to get fitted - also find out what their return policy is. Most good places will either give you a full refund or store credit.

I try to buy my runners from the USA just because of the cost, I can't believe the difference in price! I was looking at a pair of Nike's here and they were 189.99, and then we went to the Nike store downtown Seattle - same shoes 99.99!! I can only imagine outlet stores!!

I wear Ryka and love them. Very comfortable but slightly pricy.

I had no idea that they supported womans causes, that is awesome!

I wear Asics as my main shoe (around the house, to the gym, etc.), and Brooks for running. I agree with the posters who said to get your gait analyzed. Hope you find something that works for you!
