Vagisil makes a cream just for this problem! I think its called chaf relieving gel?? Its a powder gel so it feels like vaseline in your hand, but when you rub it on it feels like powder. You can get it at any drugstore. It works pretty good. And it also helps the irritation feel better, if your legs are already irritated.:smug:

I like the idea of trying gels etc as I always feel that by the time I've put on my hold-you-in-undies, tights, shorts etc the actual outfit I'm wearing serves no purpose other than to make me look socially acceptable - I've actually already got an entire outfit on underneath!
Vaseline is intriguing, I would never have even thought of it - I'm going to give that a try first as I already own a jar. |
I don't have the problem because my legs happen to be pretty skinny. I'm shaped like a canteloupe stuck on top of 2 toothpicks. Anyway, I just had a comment that I would be afraid of the vaseline getting on my skirt....it would ruin it.
Good luck. Hope you find something that works! :) |
I haven't had a problem with the vaseline ruining any skirts. Occasionally there is a darker spot from sitting but it is always on the inside (never all the way through) & has always washed off without a problem.

Vaseline getting on my skirt had occured to me too, I'm pleased to hear that it doesn't seem to be a problem.
I can't wait until my legs are thinner and not so jammed together all the time! Wearing a dress/skirt without having to worry about this kind of thing is going to be fantastic. |
I second that. I love dresses - especially in the summer but they do lose some of there carefree, cool appeal when you're doing this stuff to be able to walk.

tried the vagisil one and just didn't like it at all. may try the diaper rash trick though.. hmm..
have this problem with loose fitting exercise pants, when working out they just bunch up and chafe... maybe i need to find something to put underneath. |
diaper rash cream is fantastic - it isn't going to stop the problem but it does a fantastic job of helping the skin heal. In the summer I put it on most nights after I've showered and really think it helps the skin recover ready for the next day's assault!
