Unhappy Broken Scale

Oh wow this is embarassing!

I have a brand new digital scale. This morning when I stepped on it, I heard a loud pop. It broke! Now this scale has a weight limit of 350 lbs. Im nowhere near that so I dont know why this happened.

I found the receipt for it. The problem is that Im too embarrassed to take it back. What should I do?

Ask someone you trust to take it back!!!

Don't worry! My scales have popped before when I got on them. Only they didn't break. Are you sure they aren't working?

Good Luck

Return the scale... I wouldn't say you stepped on it and it broke. I would say something like, you put the batteries in and got on.. but nothing happened.. you think it is faulty and would like to exchange it. Either way, you can choose to get your money back, exchange it, or buy a new one. But really, who cares what the person you are returning it to thinks?! You are in this for you and you don't have to be ashamed of taking actions towards better health. I would just go into the store with a casual attitude.. state the fact that the scale won't turn on.. and you need to exchange for a new one..

I agree with cldavis04-- check to make sure it isn't working. Mine makes a pop kinda noise each time you step on it, but it still works...

Who cares what the person at the customer service counter thinks? In six months s/he won't even recognize you!!

OK, as an aside, I'm really sorry this happened, not only are you actively trying to lose weight, but when you know you're overweight and even if you didn't cause the scale to break, it has to hurt your heart. I'm sorry. Please, don't let it get you down, you know you arent at the highest weight limit and even if you were, the scale should read an Error msg, not break.

Thank you all. That just ruined my morning. I had a horrendous day yesterday and was expecting today to be better. Well at least I can hope for a better day tomorrow.

I know its broke. There is a crack in it that you can clearly see. Of course I tried it anyway. It wont give a reading. The numbers keep going up and down. It also gives a lot when you step on it.
