Kathy Smith Workouts

  • Anyone here do her workouts? My doctor told me yesterday I need to do more cardio and aerobics to help my low HDL. I saw some DVDs on eBay and wondered if they were worth my money or if I should look elsewhere for these two areas of workout.

    Thanks!!!
  • I've never done one of hers. The only videos I have are Walk Away the Pounds. I don't know if those qualify as cardio or not...
  • Oh, okay! I have listened to the WATP audio cassettes; they were pretty good. I think I need something a little more intense, although who knows...I may have just not been doing the WATP correctly.

    Thanks so much!!
  • Well I love love love Turbo Jam. I actually get excited when it's time to do them. What kind of exercise do you like to do? I like Tae Bo, and Turbo Jam is like Tae Bo but more fun. You should check out collagevideo.com. They have lots of videos with samples and reviews.
  • Thanks, Tiffany! I just had someone else recommend the same site and plan on checking it out when I get done working here in a few minutes.

As for what kind I like, hmmmm....I don't really "like" exercise of any kind, unfortunately. However, I don't mind walking (which I do now on the treadmill - 35 minutes at 2.3 MPH). I would like to be able to play ball with my boys but right now I don't feel well enough to do that, though I am planning on doing it when the weather starts warming up a bit. I haven't tried any workout videos ever so I don't really know what type I like. I think several I have seen seem interesting and "doable" - such as the step video, but again, I haven't tried any so don't really have an answer for that.

Thanks for the input! I appreciate it!
  • Ive done Kathy Smith before, i like her!! Shes very "go team go!" but i need to be yelled at !! I enjoy her workouts, i would say try them, everyone has very different tastes

Okay, great! Thanks for the feedback. I would rather hear what folks think about something before I buy as it gives me a general idea of whether I would like them or not. I am looking into getting a few today. Thanks again!
  • Why not check your local library to see if they have any fitness tapes. That way you can take them home and try out a few different types and find out what type you like before buying one?
  • That's exactly what I'm doing! I'm all for trying before buying! LOL! I found a few other workouts by different people, but I'm trying to obtain Kathy Smith. Excellent idea!
  • Did you try the kathy smith in the end? I have her fat burning DVD and love it. I took it out of the library but I think I may buy it!
  • I have Kathy Smith Lift Weights to Lose Weight 2 and it is a great workout! My abs are sore everytime I do that one.

I also do her Aerobox and Cardio Kick workouts. They are both on the difficult side but not so tough you need to be in fantastic shape to do them. The Aerobox is really different from all the others so I do that one about once weekly.

Get the Aerobox if you are up for a cardio challenge.

I've been looking into getting some of her others, but for now I'm happy with those.
  • Quote: Well I love love love Turbo Jam.
Do you know a way to get Turbo Jam DVDs without purchasing the entire system? I was doing Turbo Sculpt on demand on TV but they took it off and never put it back up I LOVED it! But I don't want to spend the $$ on the whole set, just would like to get the Turbo Sculpt one, whatever it is called...if you know, fill me in. All I can find online is the whole set, and on ebay there are so many I'm not sure which one is what I want. It was like weights and cardio bursts and had really great music and they kinda jammed out while doing the weights....SO SO much fun!
  • purple did you try your library?
  • I think the WATP audio tapes are different from the videos. The more current dvds have several collections that start out easy and get more challenging. I have mixed feelings about Kathy Smith. Some of it I love, and some of it is goofy.
