A pediatrician on Dr. Phil was saying that sugar reduces the effectiveness of our immune system...and garlic increases the effectiveness.
We've eliminated refined sugar from our house and we are eating a ton of garlic. We're not just losing weight, we are helping the whole family get healthier!
Hm, wonder if that's one of the reasons I haven't been sick since I moved in with my boyfriend 5 1/2 months ago. Now that I'm cooking every night, we eat a LOT of garlic!! He hasn't been sick either, and he used to get sick a MINIMUM of 4 times throughout the winter, and at least twice in the summer!
Sugar intake has also been greatly reduced since I moved, and especially in the last 2 1/2 weeks (South Beach). This is encouraging!
