Spicy Pasta Del Mar

recipe ingredients
1 medium onion, diced
1 tsp. olive oil
1 (10 oz) can baby clams, drained
2 tsp. minced garlic
1 jar (26 to 32 ounce) lowfat spaghetti sauce
1 tsp. dried basil leaves
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 pound raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 pound linguini, cooked and drained

recipe directions
In large saucepan, saute onion in hot oil until tender. Add clams and garlic, cook and stir 1 minute longer. Stir in pasta sauce, basil, thyme, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil. Add shrimp, reduce heat to medium. Cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through. Serve over linguini.

    This stuff is excellent. The only thing that is wrong with the recipe is that it doesn’t call for enough Cayenne Pepper. I’d use at least a full teaspoon (I probably use more — I just eyeball it). But, as hot as you like it, I suppose…
