Apple Dressing

recipe ingredients
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup choppped celery
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 cup diced unpeeled apples
4 cups dry bread cubes
1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. dried sage
fresh ground black pepper to taste
1/2 cup nonfat chicken broth

recipe directions
Preheat oven to 350*F. Saute onions and celery in margarine in a large nonstick skillet for 5 minutes or until tender. Turn into a large bowl. Add apples and bread cubes and toss to mix. Sprinkle with seasonings and chicken broth and mix gently. Turn into a large baking dish which has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Cover and bake 45 minutes.

    I really liked this recipe. I made it as a side with lemon garlic marinated chicken breasts. My husband didn’t really like all the seasonings just because he’s not really used to sage and poultry seasoning. So…I are his portion, too! :o) Next time I’ll probably forego the sage or use just a dash of it for my husband’s sake. It is well worth a try, though. And the seasonings are just a matter of taste. Like I said, I REALLY liked this recipe. I’m going to get some turkey cutlets and stuff them with this recipe next week.

    I liked this recipe as well. I did change it up a little bit. I like alot of onion so instead of using 1/4 chopped onion I used a 1/2 cup. I also used 1 tsp. of poultry seasoning and omitted the sage. I will be making this recipe again!!
