• The Good:
    I’m still not smoking
    I jog in the pool at least 35 minutes a day
    I eat better than I have in a long time
  • The Bad:
    The scales are making me so mad I haven’t even looked since last Friday
    I get hungry in the evenings and eat too many “diet” snacks (popsicles, rice cakes, etc.)
    DIL still hasn’t picked up the kids and they’ve been here almost the entire month
  • The Ugly:
    I’m NOT ready to go back to work.  Feels like I didn’t even have a summer.
    I’m sick of watching kids and want some peace and quiet for a change
    I don’t have any nice clothes to go back to work and will not buy any when I’m this fat.

first, throw the danged scale way. It is driving you batty. Try to eat right, keep doing your exercise in the pool. Love yourself. I sounds more like stress now than anything else..and know we love you hun!

Your good is great! Quitting smoking is something to be proud of and the fact that you’re doing it w/all of the other stress in your life makes it even more remarkable.

Knowing that school starting is not going to make things easier, have you thought about ways to find time for yourself? I know it’s the pot calling the kettle black, but we can’t kill ourselves for 9-10 months and then try to fit in a year’s worth of relaxation over the summer. Maybe pick one activity to back out of or at least get good at saying “no” and don’t add any more to your plate. Having said that, I hope you have a fantastic school year!

I hope the DIl has picked up the kids by now. Is your son living with you?
Personally when I need clothes I go to Goodwill. Granted the one I go to all the rich women in town dump their barely used clothes at, and yes, I can afford new clothes. BUT I love the thrill of the hunt and I love paying $6.99 for Liz Clairborne pants. Just a thought.
