Lactos free?

Yesterday I decided to go lactos free for a few weeks, I’ve had stomach problems fro a couple of years but its worse now than ever – and lactos is an obvious culprit especially as I love all things dairy so much.  My partner is also going lactos free at the moment so as I have all his lactos free dairy prooducts in the house already it seemed like a good time to try it.

So far I’ve decided I don’t like soya milk, but I might try one of the flavoured milks, my partner tried almond milk last week which he really liked, maybe that’ll be abit better.  The butter tastes the same, I even made fairy cakes with butter icing yesterday – completely dairy free but not diet friendly – but they were delicious.

I’ve also found dairy free chocolate, its quite expensive but I think I might actually prefer it to normal milk chocolate, the only option is my local supermarket is little packets of buttons, orange chocolate or just plain, and they’re both lovely.  But at 154kcals a pack I need to limit myself to one packet per day, which I am not good at.

I made porridge for breakfast again today – disaster! It wasn’t good, I ate half but didn’t enjoy it. I think it just might be that porridge doesn’t do well when it has to sit for half an hour between me making it and eating it.  Its still hot when I eat it but it just doesn’t taste nice, any suggestions for quick easy breakfasts would be good. 🙂


Another day…

Well, Lee is here this weekend and to be honest I can’t be bothered, I have planned all our meals in advance and assuming I don’t snack I should stay within my calorie limit – porridge – about 4 tbsps(it wasn’t very nice), coffee, two cheese and salad rolls for lunch, hot chocolate – 120kcals, and a jacket potato with 2 boiled eggs for dinner.  Sounds reasonable?  Until I mention that the jacket potato is from the local veg man and is the size of my head but only 40p!!! Bargain! – But even with that, I shouldn’t be going crazy over 2000kcals.

So fingers crossed I can stay off the snacks.

In other news, I’ve found a storage company and boxes, and confirmed the van man (my brother) for when I move 😀 Moving day getting closer!! 35 days until I move!

Also found out this morning, the company I work for are starting a competition, 5 teams, which ever team wins gets an undisclosed prize, the looser’s team – their manager performs an also unknown forfeit – I’m dying to know the forfeit – maybe it’ll be worth loosing to know my manage has to do it – evil right?? Lmao.

Okay terrible day yesterday, binged terribly in the eveing. I blame the spider, it was me really, but it was the spider. And this morning the spider had disapeared so I dressed and ran out the door asap, so it was a bacon bap and cappachino for breakfast as I didn’t bring my porridge with me.

Luckily my wonderful other half will be coming to see me tonight and he’ll deal with the spiders for me. So I have no hopes for eating well today.

One the other hand I’ve ordered a Yoga DVD and a pedometer off the internet so hopefully once the pedometer comes I’ll set some step goals and start doing some yoga. 🙂

Okay! Day 1 on my blog.  I’m also going to call this day 1 of my diet, yesterday didn’t really count as I only found these sites half way through the day. 

Breakfast I always find a problem, I have to leave for work by 8.45am and I am not a morning person so getting up earlier to eat isn’t an option, I’d be out cold in my porridge and end up late for work. So as I only live a short walk from work and I can eat at work, I’ve decided to start making my porridge and bringing it to work, shame its lukewarm once I eat it but I can deal with that.  Problem is I’m not good at making porridge. First day it was too dry and I barely got through a few spoons full.  Yesterday I was in a rush and forgot to put honey on it – silly woman – and was boring and yukky. Today was better, I remembered the honey and everything – still abit bland and I don’t want to add extra honey, so I’m thinking maybe cinnamon. Mmmmmm 🙂

I’ve already cooked my meals for the rest of the day 🙂 cold bacon, pea and omelette risotto for lunch (don’t knock it till you try it, its goood 🙂 ) and leftover absoultely delicious spaghetti, chicken and veggies in sauce for dinner.  Now I just have to avoid binging after dinner. No shreddies for me tonight, lots of drinks instead.
