My husband is a magician!

Today was my first day fully back on plan after my honeymoon. I do intermittent fasting, sort of. My window for eating changes daily based on my work schedule. I allow myself an 8 to 9 hour window starting, most frequently, 2 hours after I get to work, and ending about an hour after I get home from work. I try to keep it closer to 8, but occasionally I leave work late, and so my dinner ends up a little bit beyond the 8 hour mark.

Well today, my eating window was from 2pm to around 10pm. At around 11:15 I was getting the munchies. And I saw that my husband had a crumb cake muffin from a charity bake sale. I suggested we split it. I wanted to eat some of it, but somehow, magic man that he is… hubby somehow got me to workout instead of snack. I DON’T KNOW HOW HE DID IT. But somehow he turned my craving for empty calories after my eating window into a 30 minute brisk walk workout with one of my Leslie Sansone DVDs.

Now that I’m done with my workout, he’s doing some strength training exercises on the wii fit and I’m sitting here puzzled as to how he talked me into exercising when I was determined to eat.

Last night I decided to order a couple “Walk Away the Pounds” DVDs… 3 actually, and one is a combo of 3, so it’s actually like 5, and it was only 26 dollars! I thought that was a great price (check amazon for it HERE) and the 2 recommended with it, and because it was over $25, it shipped free! My walk-it-out game on the wii just wasn’t cutting it for me anymore, I barely felt like I’d exercised when I was done, and felt like “what’s the point?” and just started skipping it. Now I’ve got some options for exercise! I’ve got the various aerobic exercises on the Wii Fit, the Gold’s Gym “shape boxing” game on the Wii, that’s like a more advanced, full workout version of the rhythm boxing on the wii fit, and now I’ll have the “walk away the pounds” option as well. I can exercise to suit my mood!

This makes me happy! 🙂

Happy Sunday People!

I hope everyone is doing well! I’m having a splendid day so far. I’ve cleaned my kitchen, gotten 2 loads of laundry done, did some exercises on the wii fit (saw 281.1 on the weigh in!) and had an event that just made me want to dance around.

I can’t call it a ‘non scale victory’ because it involves the scale, but it’s kinda strange. I had gone upstairs to get a basket of laundry that needed washing, and on a whim at the bottom of the stairs (where I keep my scale) I decided to step on with that heavy basket of laundry… AND THE NUMBER POPPED UP WITH MY START WEIGHT! I can’t believe I’ve been shrugging off my “only 20ish pounds” lost! I used to have the equivalent of that heavy basket of laundry attached, most likely, to my mid section!  It’s no wonder my knees and ankle don’t hurt as much at the end of the day anymore.

It’s hard to believe how much you’ve actually lost until you pick up something that weighs as much as your loss. It’s amazing! I recommend it for anyone in a situation similar to mine. Starting out with a lot of weight to lose, and not too far into your progress yet. Don’t knock those first few pounds! They add up!

30 minutes of step aerobics…

Is not as easy as I thought it would be! Wow. 10 minutes wasn’t that bad, but by 20 I was red faced and couldn’t breathe, but I kept going and got to 30 minutes. Sweaty and gross and feeling a major sense of accomplishment.  I thought I was going to somehow be deprived of decent cardio workout because I don’t have a treadmill, a stationary bike,  or an elliptical machine in my home. But I guess doing the ‘free step’ for 30 minutes on the wii fit is a decent substitute, if you go at a fast pace. It seems to be better for me, cardio wise, than the ‘walk it out’ game, because even though I take more steps in the ‘walk it out’ game, I seem to get a more intense work out via the step aerobics.

And as nasty as it may sound, I kinda like this sweaty, gross, achy tired feeling. Makes me feel like I *did* something. 🙂 (Time to go shower it off though!)
