Fat Smash detox

Posted by: sgregg In: Getting healthy

Man, it has been hard getting back into the swing of things.  My eating is still horrible and I’m not getting in all my water.  I am drinking more water than I was, but I’m still struggling.  I just do not have the motivation this time around.  I feel like it’s hopeless since I won’t be able to go to the gym when student teaching starts back up at the end of this month.  I absolutely hate working out at home.  I also hate feeling like I’m doing it all alone.  DH isn’t really trying although he keeps talking about getting healthier.  It would be so much easier if he would do it with me.  I would really like to do the Fat Smash Diet detox again.  I can’t find my book.  I pretty much know what I can have though.

  • 1 cup of brown rice per day
  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • 1 cup of oatmeal
  • All the fruits and veggies I want – steamed, raw, or roasted (except for white potatoes and avocados)
  • 1 cup of herbal tea per day
  • yogurt…I can’t remember how much…i think 2 small containers?

For Phase 1 (detox) you eat these things for 9 days.  You are supposed to eat frequently…about every 2 or 3 hours and it’s very important that you get in your rice and oatmeal.  The whole grain carbs help fill you up and your body doesn’t go crazy over sugars and other carbs.  When I did this before, I lasted 8 days.  We went out of town on the 8th day and went to a restaurant.  I got a salad, but it had a chicken and a boiled egg on it.  Oh my goodness, that was the best boiled egg I ever ate in my life and I don’t even like boiled eggs.  Haha!  You will be surprised how your body will crave that protein.  During detox, you have to rely on beans, tofu, and milk for the protein.  However, I dropped about 10 lbs during detox and I felt great.  So, I’m thinking I need to go back.  In Phase II, you can start adding a few proteins like chicken and cheese, I think.  I wish I could find my book… Anyway, this diet helps you appreciate sugars in fruits and it made me actually like veggies that I didn’t care for, such as broccoli, beans, sweet potatoes.  I love all those veggies now.  I would love to try it again.  I think after this week, I will buy the groceries for it and go from there.
