Getting Healthy for Life

Man, I am tired.

I do not know why I am so tired.  Well, I’m sure it has to do with getting up at 6am, but it used to not be this way before I started drinking more water and eating better.  I bet my body was just screwed up and couldn’t stay on a good clock since I was eating sooo much food during the day and a lot of that food being unhealthy for me.

This week has been weird for me, calorie-wise.  Monday, I hit my calorie goal.  Actually, I went over by 4…no big deal.  Anyway, Tuesday I got up to 1,169.  I did not eat anymore to bump it up because I was really full.  I had a big dinner, but it was very low calorie (that was the spaghetti squash night).  Yesterday, I ate 1,240 calories…and I actually ate a few things later in the evening to bump up my calories.  I had another low-calorie dinner.  And then, again, today, my calories are at 1,215.  I mean, I know it’s good that I’m not hungry all the time like I was, but I don’t want to sabotage my weight loss by not eating enough.  I also don’t want to spend all evening snacking.  I don’t think that would be the right or healthy thing to do.  So, I guess I should plan my meals more and spread my calories out better.  If I plan on having a low-calorie dinner then I need to spend more calories at breakfast or lunch or a good healthy snack during the day.  Anyway, I just had to get it all out and think this through.  I’m really glad that I’m not just scarfing my face with junk and feeling like I need to eat, but I’m just worried that I may not be giving myself the proper nutrition.  However, I can say that my breakfasts and lunches are more healthy.  I’m eating stuff that’s less calories, but it’s filling me up.  Here’s what I had today:

  • 9:20am – 1 cup Special K with 1/2 cup skim milk, 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp honey roasted almonds
  • 11:30am – Flat bread wrap with 2 tbsp hummus, 1 tbsp fat free ranch, 4 slices smoked turkey breast, 1/4 cup shredded cheese, & green leaf lettuce, 9 cheddar cheese Quakes
  • 2pm – 1/2 banana
  • 5:45pm – 2 and 1/2 slices cheese pizza
  • 8:35pm – 1 triscuit cracker, 1 tbsp hummus on 1 slice of wheat bread

My dinners are usually better than pizza, but today was an exception since it was school fundraiser night at Chuck E. Cheese’s and DS really wanted to go.  Anywho, what I had originally planned for dinner was less than 300 calories per serving anyway, so I would still be where I am now.
