I decided to go ahead and start blogging through’s blog site.  Let me introduce myself.  I am 27, married, with 2 children.  One boy that’s 6 and in first grade and a daughter that is almost 4 months.  I have recently decided that it’s time to get a move on getting healthy.  I’m not talking about JUST losing weight.  I’m talking about drinking more water, making better food choices, caring more about my appearance, and getting in some form of exercise.  I know that it will take baby steps to truly stick with a good healthy routine and that is what I’m doing.  I am keeping up with my weight since I am in the obese category and need to lose weight to get healthy.  But like others and like I have done in the past, I start obsessing about just losing weight and that’s not what I want to do this time.  This time my sole reason for getting healthy is for ME.  I know I am worth it and I owe it to myself to be able to do the things that I want to do.  Not only will I benefit from it, I know my kids and husband will too.  Anyway, I’ll go ahead and post my weekly weigh-in results for my first week.

I started at 234.6 last Tuesday.  Yesterday, after a week of drinking more water and counting my calories, I weighed in at 230.4.  So, a 4.2lb loss!  I know the first few weeks I will see a larger loss because I am just now getting back into counting and drinking my water.  I’m sure a lot of that is water that I’ve been retaining.

Right now, I am allowed a little over 1500 calories a day.  I use to track my calories.
