7 100 Calorie Desserts

A diet doesn’t have to mean the end of all delicious, satisfying desserts. You can find prepackaged bags of 100 calorie treats, or you can get creative and add some variety. Try these ideas for quick and easy sweets that have 100 calories or less per serving.

1. Frozen Yogurt or Fat Free Ice Cream

When everyone goes out for ice cream, you can enjoy your treat without sabotaging your diet. Try some fat free ice cream for a thick, creamy dessert. Some frozen yogurts also have only 100 calories, although they will be very basic flavors without toppings or add-ons.

2. Sugar Free Frozen Fudge Bar

If you are craving chocolate, a sugar free frozen fudge bar is an excellent choice. It will satisfy both your sweet tooth and chocolate craving without ruining your success.

3. Low Fat Yogurt

Some traditional yogurts can be enjoyed for 100 calories or less. You can eat it plain, or find some with fruit mixed in for an extra sweet treat. Not only will yogurt tempt your tastebuds, but it is good for you. The calcium in yogurt will help build strong bones and teeth. Yogurt also has beneficial bacteria that will help regulate your digestive tract. Certain varieties are available that contain extra fiber, which will help you feel fuller longer.

4. Homemade S’mores

This classic treat doesn’t have to be off of the dessert list just because you are dieting. Layer graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate syrup and melt it in the microwave. Measure your ingredients to ensure that your indulgence doesn’t bump you up over your calorie limit.

5. Hershey’s Kisses

Don’t deny yourself your favorite foods when you are dieting. Just limit how many you can have. Hershey’s kisses are small enough to indulge in without going over 100 calories. They will satisfy any chocoholic’s cravings and leave you feeling satisfied with your dessert choice.

6. Cinnamon and Sugar Tortilla Crisps

Cut a tortilla into wedges and place the wedges on a cookie sheet. Spray them with water or non-stick spray. Sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon and alternative sweetener. Bake them in a 350 degree oven until they are crisp, which is about 10 to 15 minutes. A few wedges will give you a delicious dessert and allow you to stick to your diet.

7. Fat Free Pudding

A serving of pudding made with skim milk will give you a tasty dessert. Several flavors are available, including chocolate, butterscotch and banana. The milk will give you calcium and vitamin D, and the sweet flavor will make this a dessert that you will turn to often.

Food labels will help you judge whether or not your favorite dessert can be enjoyed for 100 calories or less. Make sure you measure your servings. As with any food, moderation is the key when you are enjoying your sweets. Take the time to savor your indulgence.
