5 Summer Cocktails That Have Fewer Than 250 Calories

With summer right around the corner, we often count the days until we throw on our flip flops, enjoy outdoor activities, and indulge in a refreshing summer cocktail. Unfortunately, some of those summer drinks can pack a calorie punch. Whether it be a cooling mudslide or a frozen margarita, some of the best quenching concoctions can have 500 calories or more per serving. Here are a list of fabulous skinny summer cocktails coming in at less than 250 calories. Although they are lighter in calories, they are still full on flavor.

Coconut and Pineapple Delight
Serves 6


  • 20 ounces pineapple juice
  • 2 cups white rum
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 2 tablespoons ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lite coconut milk
  • Cherries and orange slice to garnish
  • Ice


Combine pineapple juice, rum, pineapple, ginger and sugar, leaving out coconut milk. Stir ingredients together well. Pour drink into glass filled with ice. Add in coconut milk just before you are ready to serve, but be sure not to mix to provide a cool effect. Top with cherries and orange slice as a garnish.

Calories per serving: 240 calories

Tangerine and Grapefruit Mojito
Serves 6


  • 5 grapefruits
  • 3 tangerines
  • 1 cup white rum
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup seltzer (or more if needed)
  • ½ cup packed mint leaves
  • crushed ice


In a sturdy glass, muddle mint leaves and sugar. Juice 3 grapefruits and 3 tangerines and set aside. Segment the remaining 2 grapefruits for garnish in the drink. To a large pitcher, add the grapefruit and tangerine juices along with rum, seltzer, and muddled mint leaves and sugar. Stir ingredients together well. Pour into a glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with grapefruit segments and serve.

Calories per serving: 215 calories

Berry Vodka Cooler
Serves 4


  • 1 ½ cups Raspberry vodka
  • 2 cans LaCroix Cran-Raspberry sparkling water
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • Crushed ice


In a pitcher, combine vodka, sparkling water and cranberry juice. Mix well. When ready to enjoy, pour mixture over crushed ice, add in berries as garnish, and serve.

Calories per serving: 220 calories

Summer White Sangria
Serves 4


  • 1 bottle sparkling white wine
  • 1 8-ounce can pineapple chunks packed in 100% juice
  • 1 cup citrus soda (LaCroix or Fresca)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 peach, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen berries
  • 1 navel orange, cut into wedges
  • Mint leaves, for garnish
  • Ice


Combine all fruit in a glass pitcher and pour in wine, canned pineapple with juices, citrus soda and sugar. Stir gently. Cover and chill for up to 24 hours before serving. When ready to serve, pour over ice, garnish with mint and enjoy.

Frozen Coconut Refresher
Serves 4


  • 1 cup coconut rum
  • 2 cups coconut water (or more if needed for consistency)
  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple and mango
  • Shredded coconut, for garnish


In a blender, pour in coconut rum, coconut water, pineapple juice and frozen fruit. Blend ingredients well. Pour into glass and garnish with shredded coconut. Serve immediately.
